[lace] Wow...Carrickmacross Ornament
I LOVE Carrickmacross lace. I would really love to see this ornament. Who was it from. Some of the really nice Carricmacross designs I have seen made by Joan Sulkie's Mother whose name escapes me right now. I really loved her Carrickmacross design where there is a lady sitting in her chair and in her lap was a embroidery frame with a shamrock Carrickmacross being made in the frame. I do think it won for best of show by popular vote one year at IOLI convention. I know she has made some other Carrickmacross designs too. I saw a really cute Carrickmacross snowman ornament that was made by her too one year. I wrote to Dover over the weekend explaining about the missing and duplicated pages in my copy of The Book of Bobbin Lace Stitches and they are going to replace it with an inspected copy (to be sure all the pages are there). Free of charge, no questions asked! I did buy it directly from them, so they can see in their records that I purchased a copy, but still.
