Even so, spelling rules still apply; they're "iprmoatnt"... :)

2003-09-15 Thread mother
Dear Secret Pal, Thank you once again for the lovely package. Iam sure I won't have to
buy notelets for a long time, they are all lovely. The lace kit I will have to do at a
later date. The photo album is just what I needed to store my lace postage stamps.
Thank you again Mary Wiedermann

[lace-chat] vegetable shortenings shortcomings

2003-09-15 Thread Helene Gannac
All these "vegetable shortenings" are a cheap substitute for butter.

Yeah, and most of them contain palm oil, which, although vegetable, is a
saturated fat and thus just as bad for you as butter!!!

I'm always amazed to see how many young girls who look extremely thin still
have a nice little pot in front!! Obviously they feel that being thin they
don't need to exercise! And of course, they all wear those terribly revealing
hipsters and short tops to add to the ghastly sight!

I was interested to read that one of things that was changed to make a more
interesting film - rather than a documentary - was to bring in opposition
from the Women's Institute, (W.I.), County administration, who - in fact -
supported the calendar idea.

However, I remember that when the news came out about the calendar in the
W.I. where I was a member at that time, the reaction was very mixed. Some
laughed and supported the idea, some were horrified at what they saw as the
immorality of naked bodies, many weren't too fussed either way.

Probably typical of the world at large here. I'm really looking forward to
seeing the film, especially after Jean's review, and I'm also looking
forward to hearing about the reactions of my friends who are still W.I.
members.
