I'm jealous of both of you. We still have a foot of snow on the crocuses, the daffodils are a l-o-n-g way away. However, the very early crocuses across the street are uncovered. With a little sun I think they'll bloom! It does my heart good. Treacle is close to molasses, but I'm not sure if it's the same! My mom used to have us put a couple of teaspoons in milk and stir it up good and drink it when we were feeling a bit run down. She said it is a good source for potassium and iron. I got to where I like it that way and sometimes have it when I have a sweet tooth and there aren't any sweets in the house. Liz in sunny, breezy Missouri USA where the daffodils are blooming. Yay! I'm not sure how molasses translates around the world. It's very dark,sticky brown liquid. I think maybe what's left when they boil off some ofthe sugar? Hi All, I read this cooking tip and it works great! I sprayed my measuring cup with Pam (aerosol cooking oil) and filled up with the molasses I needed. It all slid right out of the cup! Really fast when I had just filled it but it even worked when I let it sit for a while. I'm not sure how molasses translates around the world. It's very dark, sticky brown liquid. I think maybe what's left when they boil off some of the sugar? It tastes bad raw but makes spice cookies taste very good!
