The snowdrops are in a west facing bed. There is a still a good foot of
snow on the north facing flower beds

I'm jealous of both of you. We still have a foot of snow on the crocuses,
the daffodils are a l-o-n-g way away.

However, the very early crocuses across the street are uncovered. With a
little sun I think they'll bloom! It does my heart good.

Treacle is close to molasses, but I'm not sure if it's the same!

My mom used to have us put a couple of teaspoons in milk and stir it up good
and drink it when we were feeling a bit run down. She said it is a good source
for potassium and iron. I got to where I like it that way and sometimes have
it when I have a sweet tooth and there aren't any sweets in the house.

I'm not sure how molasses translates around the world. It's very dark, sticky
brown liquid. I think maybe what's left when they boil off some ofthe sugar?

[lace-chat] Measuring molasses

2014-03-22 Thread jviking
Hi All, I read this cooking tip and it works great! I sprayed my
measuring cup with Pam (aerosol cooking oil) and filled up with the
molasses I needed. It all slid right out of the cup! Really fast when I
had just filled it but it even worked when I let it sit for a while.
