I don't think she saw a different version. Pauline said her handbag
was stolen, so she was relying on her memory. The words aren't the
same but they're close enough.

Woah, that did take effort! I entered whole lines into Google with quotes,
but tht wouldn't work in this case because the words weren't teh same. I
did think that she had it memorized. But this is so different that probably
she saw a different version.

That was a tough one to track down (i.e., it took me more than 3
minutes). It's called The Faith That Moves The Mountains, by Patience
Strong
<http://oldpoetry.com/opoem/98967-Patience-Strong-The-Faith-That-Moves-The-Mountains>

When you know not where to turn,
stay still, just where you are.
There is something yet to learn.
Be careful lest you jar the threads that
fate is weaving in a patternyou can't see.
Be Passive.

Trust the Hand that works the looms of destiny.
Though it is your wish to set things right
and put things straight,
Choose the wiser way.
Have faith.
With patience watch and wait.
There's a purpose in it all,
as time will surely prove
And when you least expect it,
you will see the mountain move.

Dear friends,

I am looking for the inspirational verse called 'The Faith that moved a

out of an English magazine, and it was in a handbag at the time which
got stolen.

Sadly I am unsure of the author, I thought it was Helen Steiner Wright,
and then it maybe Patience Strong.

Dear friends,

I am looking for the inspirational verse called 'The Faith that moved a

I would be very, very happy, if one of you might know this verse, and
could kindly let me have a copy please, I know how clever fellow
Arachnid's are at finding what seems impossible, and I have tried Google
and else where with no joy.

Kindest regards

[lace-chat] Help needed - Post from USA to UK.

2004-06-30 Thread Laceandbits
Is there an American arachne who would be kind enough to post on a booklet
that my partner bought on e-bay. It is a vintage tractor manual, not very thick
I believe. When he bought it he knew that the seller wouldn't post to the
UK, but for some reason they won't post to Canada either so we can't get it via
Malvary.

In return, either I will send some lace things (or anything else for that
matter) not available in/expensive in the States or, if preferred, Malvary can
send you US funds to repay you.

You may think it strange that he would buy something before he knew if he
could get it, but he collects (among other things) American "Oliver" tractors.
His first was bought new by his Dad in 1948 and he still has that, and also 4
others. This manual he has bought is for the cultivating equipment that hangs
underneath the "row-crop" style ones. We have two of these, plus a load of
bits of equipment, but because they are rare in this country the manuals are
even rarer, and if we could find one at all it would cost probably in excess of
50GBP. He got this one for about $12! And it might help him make usable
equipment out of the piles of parts that he picked up as a job lot.

If anyone can help, please contact me with your address and what you would
like in exchange.

Jacquie

Re: [lace-chat] Help needed from the Oz spiders

2004-03-05 Thread David Collyer
Dear Liz,

Tame Aussie wants wattle for ANZAC day - how do I get some in the UK - who
can I order it from in Oz?
The vast majority of Wattles don't flower until July. That's one reason why
you don't see it on ANZAC Day. Of course there are some 500 species and
there'd be some out somewhere I'm sure, but not in Victoria.

He might just have to stick with Rosemary like the rest of us.

2004-03-04 Thread W & N Lafferty
Hey, Liz,
Tell your tame Aussie if he really wants to be traditional on Anzac Day,
he should be wearing a sprig of Rosemary, not wattle!

(And every time you mention him, I start singing that song
"Is he an Aussie, Is he, Lizzie,
Is he an Aussie, is he eh?
Is is because he is an Aussie
That he keeps you busy, Lizzie.
Has he funny ways and does he
Make you feel all fuzzy wuzzy.
Got you feeling dizzy, Lizzie,
Is he an Aussie, is he eh?")

[lace-chat] help needed please

2003-11-11 Thread A & M Nicholas
Hi,
I am writing to you in the hope that someone out there can help me please !!

My sister has a severe chemical sensitivity and has to use special organic
soap ,shampoo etc.
A shop here in England has up until now imported a soap that she uses from
New Zealand. They have now stopped importing it and she has been left high
and dry with no soap.

I am writing to you in the hope that there might be someone out there who
can get her the soap and send it over ??
My sister is happy to pay all costs incurred in this.

The soap is called "Nui certified organic soap" and although the shop has
previously imported it from New Zealand it actually says Handcrafted in
Australia on the label.

Our fingers are crossed that there is someone out there who can help,
many thanks,

Anne Nicholas
