Re: [lace-chat] Re: [lace] Re Susan of Tennessee

2013-03-18 Thread David C COLLYER

Dear T,

I wonder what did become of Susan, I had forgotten all about her,
is it that long ago David?

Wasn't, really; David misremembers :)it had to have been *at
least* 2003...

Thanks for that correction. I knew it was a long time ago - fancy -
only 10 years!

2013-03-18 Thread H Mmmm
Well, since Jeri has got so many of the lurkers out of hiding and some of
my old friends are posting, I had better come out too.

I'm Heather Muth and have been with Arachne almost since the beginning.
I've lurked for many years now. Tamara, I'm so sorry to hear of your
husband.Like Tamara, however, it was trauma that made me step into the
background. It was about 12 years ago that I became ill, 11 years ago that
my husband started his affair and 8 years ago that we separated. I am now
quite happily divorced. I've focused more on my embroidery since then,
although I still love the lace. And for those, like Bev Walker, who may
remember my children, my daughter has been married for over a year (I know,
right!) and my son is a student at the University of the Fraser Valley, as
am I.

I can't believe that Arachne is 18. It doesn't seem that long.

Heather

Wasn't, really; David misremembers :) The last we heard from darling Susan (the
Scourge of Lace and Lace Chat) was that she was -- finally! despite all the
evil scheming! -- accepted to the military. Since my very first thought was: I
hope they ship you to Iraq, pronto. And that you'll have no 'puter access, it
had to have been *at least* 2003...

Nice to hear from you Tamara - don't believe you've posted for
such a long time. I used to enjoy your 'play on words' - made me stop
and do some research, other than lace. :-) Lorraine Hatcher was asking
after you the other day.

Cheers,

guess summer hasn't finished with us yet!!

Thanks for missing me :) My husband (of nearly 40 yrs) got sick around
Christmas of '11, died in March of 12, and I lost my... not cotton-pickin'...
but lacemaking mind. I'm beginning to climb out, but it's still a very slow
process and not reliable. I only read what I think I *have to*, or stuff that
doesn't require any mental acuity, because everything takes forever (I still
cannot concentrate for any length of time, though I'm way past the 30 seconds,
max stage).

It's good to see a lot of the familiar names still posting, though. Even the
ones who are as self-righteous as ever :)
