According to

http://www.weblio.jp/content/%E6%81%B0%E5%A5%BD%E3%81%84%E3%81%84

and

http://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q1323635098

this is just an alternative spelling. It is rather rare compared to
格好いい though. Google says.

恰好いい: 732.000 hits
格好いい: 1.5 Mio. hits

Another issue is the 良い which some people may read よい instead of
いい.

It may be better to change the character to the more common one. In
order to do so you can just replace all occurrences of 恰好良い
with 格好いい. If you don't want to I can do it for you.

I think there still a lot of issues with the Japanese rules that I want
to fix. I usually work on the command line though and when running the
rules on the Japanese test corpus, the character offsets of the grammar
error outputs are wrong (because of the offsets not taking wide characters
into account as far as I can tell), making it hard to review the applied
grammar rules. I wanted to fix that before diving into the rules but I
haven't gotten around doing that yet...

For the grammar rule's sake it may be better to use some graphical
user interface to check them if I can figure it out.

Cheers,

Silvan

Possible bug in Japanese rule

2016-01-20 Thread Rick Genter
There is a rule in the Japanese grammar.xml that says this:

  かっこいい

  誤変換です。恰好良いの間違いです。
  あの人はかっこいい。

A Japanese colleague of mine says that the suggestion is using the wrong
first character: instead of 恰 it should be 格. After reviewing how the two
sentences translate to English, I tend to agree.

What's the best way to fix this?
