[leaf-user] Bering 1.0 / ipsec loses its route

2003-10-04 Thread Hein Bauer
Dear list,
My beringbox loses its route. The default gateway changes
to dev ipsec0 ! Default gateway has to be ppp0. I believe this
happens in the moment when my provider forces to re-connect.
We had a discussion about that phenomenon some days ago, but
I can´t find that thread...
Anybody to remember that problem ? ;-)

RE: [leaf-user] Bering 1.0 / ipsec loses its route

2003-10-04 Thread Francois BERGERET
Hi Hein,

This appears on V1.0 and V1.2 running IPSec and after an ISP link loss.
This is a normal effect due to IPSec usage, modifying routes at each
tunnels modifications as starting/sopping them.

If you browse into the list archive, you must retrieve my post regarding
the solution...
If you don't found it, or if you don't want to write the script, I can
send you my copy, running in my Bering V1.2 Soekris embeded PC.

As you want...

Best Regards,
Francois BERGERET,
France.

[leaf-user] Problems with my NIC

2003-10-04 Thread Jose Luis Abuelo Sebio
Hey how is everyone doing?

Let´s see if you can help me out here. I used to
work with LRP a few months ago, but now I wanna do it
again to install a firewall. The problem is that now I
have bought two NICs SureCom EP-320X-S to do the Two
interface option of the manual, but the my boot disk
doesn´t see any of the two NIC´s I have tried to
install more modules, you know 3c509 but I don´t
find the module I need for them.

Did any of you work with these NICs before? If so I
can I know what the exact module I need for them?

Of course if you think that I am forgetting something
obvious, please tell me what!!! I know this is a easy
step but it is taking me too much time.

 Thanks

I don't have that card but the information I found on the net says you have to use the
fealnx.o module , you probably also need the "helper " module mii.o
so

mii
fealnx

Assuming you use Bering 1.2 then you can find the modules here
http://leaf.sourceforge.net/devel/jnilo/bering/latest/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/net

Succes

[leaf-user] problems with tulip.o

2003-10-04 Thread Jose Luis Abuelo Sebio
hey how are you doing guys?

Here I send you another question about my NIC SureCom
EP-320X-S. I think that I have to install the module
tulip.o with dependences of pci-scan.o. So I install
pci-scan.o with no problem but when I try to install
the tulip.o I get a error message:

$insmod tulip
using /lib/modules/tulip.o
insmod : init_module: tulip: Operation not supported
by the system

Any idea of what I am doing wrong? Thanks guys

[leaf-user] Problem with pptp clients

2003-10-04 Thread Stephen Pritchard
I have a Bering leaf 1.2 firewall. I'm trying to allow PCs in the internal
network to connect to a external pptp server.

I have the following kernel modules loaded

ip_nat_proto_gre1012 0 (unused)
ip_nat_h323 2656 0 (unused)
ip_nat_irc 2176 0 (unused)
ip_nat_ftp 2784 0 (unused)
ip_conntrack_pptp 2124 1
ip_conntrack_proto_gre1728 0 [ip_conntrack_pptp]
ip_conntrack_h323 2336 3
ip_conntrack_irc2880 0 (unused)
ip_conntrack_ftp3648 0 (unused)

I have ip_nat_pptp set to load on boot as well but when it loads it comes
up with Input/output error I don't know if this is significant.

and I have also added

ip_conntrack_proto_gre
ip_conntrack_pptp
ip_nat_proto_gre
ip_nat_pptp

to the shorewall modules file but I have not added any rules to shorewall
for the pptp connections.

When they try to connect to the pptp server with a client it authenticates
on the server but I then get the following errors in shorewall and the
client fails to connect.

Oct 3 18:42:03 firewall Shorewall:net2all:DROP: IN=eth0 OUT=
MAC=00:40:f4:18:30:7f:ff:40:f5:77:57:e7:08:00 SRC=203.88.65.186
DST=203.113.155.73 LEN=65 TOS=00 PREC=0x00 TTL=55 ID=55841 DF PROTO=47
Oct 3 18:42:04 firewall Shorewall:net2all:DROP: IN=eth0 OUT=
MAC=00:40:f4:18:30:7f:ff:40:f5:77:57:e7:08:00 SRC=203.88.65.186
DST=203.113.155.73 LEN=74 TOS=00 PREC=0x00 TTL=55 ID=55842 DF PROTO=47

Where 203.113.155.73 is the external IP address of the firewall and
203.88.65.186 is the pptp server.

It looks to me like the firewall is not masqurading the proto 47 pptp
connections correctly. Is there something I'm missing? do I have to add any
rules to shorewall for the clients or is there a module I'm not loading
correctly?

-Stephen

could that be a HW problem on the floppy drive?

Hi all. I've got the most annoying problem, and I think I'm...well,
screwed. Just today I was trying to back up my Bering floppy, when
lrcfg's "back up floppy" submenu failed on a segmentation fault. Ok, I
thought; I've been playing around with p9100.lrp for printserv duties
lately, and maybe I screwed something up (never could quite get the
printer working, anyway - I'm still using uClibc_1.2.1-b3). So I turned
to a recent floppy backup, with no printserv modifications, and booted
from that. Router works ok, so I try and back _that_ floppy up. BOOM -
segfault on this attempt, too.

Weird. Does anyone think that I might have messed with the actual
hardware such that Bering is running out of memory? Some mem
