Re: [LU] LU Were we good for our victory
Good teams that win on a bad day have the luxury of being a good team that had a blip. We've had a good start to the season - I'm sure nobody would disagree, but if any team is outplayed on a regular basis as we were against Ipswich for periods of that game, then the long term outlook is not good. A team playing well and losing is less of a problem than a team winning against the run of play in my book. I suppose there is the psychological advantage of winning that strengthens team core and self belief, but with the risk of missing the reality of what's really happening. In the end though, when it all averages out, teams that are outplayed on a regular basis, lose games. Perhaps we're working towards that good team tag so we can afford a bad day victory in the knowledge that we'll be back to normal for the next game. Quite a simple thought process really! Re: [LU] LU Were we good for our victory
Please somebody tell me we were worth our win tonight against Doncaster. I couldn't take another Ipswich where we were played off the park for parts of the game but somehow managed a victory. From listening on the radio and over the 90 mins I would say that we were well worth the win. However if Doncaster had taken their chances and had a bit more luck they might have had another goal or 2 particularly at the beginning of each half, so I don't think we can say we were dominant. So as usual with Leeds it's a real curates egg, good in parts, bloody awful in others, but in keeping with the positive glass half full attitude I'm trying to keep hold of, the 3 young lads, Poleon, Mowatt and Wotton all had good games and we have a manager who will give them a chance. ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER
[LU] I know cos I was there
Im struggling to comprehend some of the doom and gloom. last night they were far and away the better side, they took their chances well against a side that passed the ball and tried to play proper football Thats 2 wins at home , two wins away and a couple of draws….that has to be a good start by any standards. QPR to come….this wil be the first true test. If Barton starts I expect fireworks. ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER

Re: [LU] I know cos I was there
Even better, last night was pretty much squad players - Drury, Smith, Poleon, and even Tonge have not been starting the games so far plus Wootton and Mowatt making their debuts - that is over half the team who may not be in the starting line up on Saturday. Add to this our player of the year last season, Byram to come back (early signs are that he is showing no ill effects from his 45 minutes for the reserves, plus Diouf just making his way back and things are looking bright. A good ; money spinning draw tonight for the next round, could also mean that we keep Ross and maybe even find the cash for the much hoped for winger ? I still do not expect promotion this season but I hope, and am starting to believe, that we can spend most of the season in and around the play off positions and that will be OK. Things are looking much better off the pitch with the various fan initiatives GFH have brought in (back) - it is a shame that we have the second consecutive home lunch-time kick off on TV this weekend , otherwise the crowd could have been decent - a decent performance and result may start to bring back all those fans who left under the old regime Dave From: Robert Woodmansey rob.woodman...@me.com To: leedslist@gn.apc.org Sent: Wednesday, 28 August 2013, 12:25 Subject: [LU] I know cos I was there Im struggling to comprehend some of the doom and gloom. last night they were far and away the better side, they took their chances well against a side that passed the ball and tried to play proper football Thats 2 wins at home , two wins away and a couple of draws….that has to be a good start by any standards.
