Another in the long list of shambles in our ever evolving and depressing 
history. Twas me who said any takeover would happen after transfer deadline - 
am amazed we haven't 'lost' any of our first XI - still time today eh? 
Presumably GFH will need operating capital, so it wouldn't surprise me to see 
them launching a flash sale this afternoon!
 
We're in the crap position of being too big to be bought out by any local 
businessman, but too many skeletons for any serious investor to touch. Maybe 
assets such as the training ground need to be given up, so it just becomes a 
matter of football club and players. I have no idea who owns the ground either, 
but as long as we can rent it then again, to attract investment it might be 
time to ditch all the agreements about buy-back etc. There's no way it's ever 
going to happen, unless the council buys it back again, or a supporters trust, 
which again I think is unlikely.

Statement from Mike Farnan & Together Leeds

Leeds United Supporters Trust, as representatives of over 9,000 LUFC 
supporters, have been asked to publish the following statement by the group led 
by Mike Farnan to our members and the wider fans base:-

Together Leeds, led by Mike Farnan, issued an offer for the share capital of 
Leeds United on the 14th November 2013. The value offered was significantly in 
excess of the amount publicly reported.

Our bid remains fully funded, and our strategy involves credible Yorkshire and 
football people, with Leeds and the community at their heart, rebuilding this 
great club. We think that our consortium is the best future custodian of the 
club and represents the best way forward.

In recent days, before and since the collapse of the Sport Capital bid, we have 
re-engaged with GFH, and offered significant investment into the club.

We are hopeful of those discussions being allowed to progress to a successful 
conclusion.

We thank everyone for the huge support shown to us, particularly this week.

See in particular paragraphs (e) - (i) and (ii) thereof taken together with
(ix) - and (h) of the definition of "Disqualifying Condition".

I don't have the full details of his past convictions and sentences and
when, under Italian law, a conviction is deemed to be spent.

Gievn he has multiple convictions as I understand it, I would hope that if
he falls foul of any of these tests any appeal he makes for an exception
would be rejected.

Radio Leeds reporting that deal with Italian is back on but not done yet. Small 
matter of fit and proper owner to cover as well and as the bloke has 
convictions for embezzlement nothing is certain.

We seem to just have had trail of owners who are all crooks and have no 
interest in LUFC at all. Maybe an Italian crook might at least get some decent 
footballers to the club ? 

Jeez, this situation is bad. I remember back to that sunny day against Brighton 
where the GFH guys milked the applause all around the ground. I sat and stared. 
Just another bunch of chancers who probably don't even like football, and so it 
proved to be.

Surely BMD will resign this weekend before being pushed aside?

And despite all that I'm looking forward to the game tomorrow even without Ross 
who will be sold to Sunderland tonight.

Putting aside the shenanigans in the board room and the fact that BMD seems 
like a really top bloke, I would argue with this decision on a pure footballing 
level,

However, given the uncertainty at the moment, losing a bloke who really did 
show respect and passion for our club and the fact that our captain has just 
come out tonight and pledged his future under BMD it all seems a bit like the 
end of the world.

All very sad, but nowhere near as sad as I felt when you lot got Wilko sacked.

There was a footballing dynasty that would have lasted for 1,000 years. 

If real life were Sliding Doors, Me and Pope Paul would now be watching us 
destroy Barcelona with a home-grown team whilst Lord Wilkinson would be having 
another statue erected in his honour. We wouldn't need cash when we had the 
finest ever footballing brain in the manager's office and a trophy cabinet 
begging for reinforced rawl plugs.

As it is, I'll be looking at the Grayson Perry tapestries tomorrow as you lot 
brood over another farce.

Obviously, I liked the sound of the 2 consortia led by Leeds fans.

But...there might be some positives here:
1. McD was a nice bloke, but I was beginning to entertain doubts about him.
One draw in 6 games! Actually, it was before that run that I started to
worrythe 2 feeble feeble draws at home to Barnsley & B/burn, both of
which I attended. After the Barnsley game, I happened to speak to the agent
of the little blond lad who had run us ragged all day (can't remember his
name.) The agent said the lad was avaiable and not expensive but that McD
did not fancy him. (He's now gone to Blackpool, I believe so he'll get
another chance to run us ragged in April.)
2. We might get some tasty Italian lads on loan.
3. This model worked pretty well for Watford.
4. It looks like we're going to get Festa as manager, but if
not.Zola comes from Sardinia.
5. Spaghetti con pesto!

here is a "review" of the new owner by an italian mate of mine:

"for sure he has kept Cagliari in the SERE A for many years having only a
small budget. they have also developed some young players from the youth
teams.

in theory it appears that he understands about football but do not expect
mega investments. He has also bought some young players from South America
and developed them for SERIE A.
usually Cagliari has not had much problem remaining in SERIE A and has not
been involved in the relegation battle too often.

Im shell shocked to wake up to this shit but I ve decided to put a hold on
my judgement just yet. I didnt know why we took DOL as a manager
and was pleasantly surprised. Im hoping for a similar effect here.

I did think BMD was good enough but only had shit players to work with, so
keeping him and giving him money would have worked.

I agree. McD was a nice bloke who says the right things but I am surprised
at the reaction of some of the Leeds fans. I went to the Barnsley game
aswell and it was woeful. The sole tactic was to pass it to Lees to pump up
to the big man. Again and again. It was predictable and a piece of piss to
defend against but we had no other ideas. I vowed not to waste any more of
my money on the club after that game until there was a drastic improvement
in not just the team but the whole approach of the club. I am sick to the
back teeth of owners who think they can make a fast buck by flipping the
club once the manager has perfomed miracles whilst spending buttons. It's
never going to happen.

You can't get away from the fact that we are a very very poor team, far
worse than when Warnock was in charge. It's true McD has not been backed,
but I believe the players at the club are capable of playing much better
than they currently do. They showed what they can do against Watford. I'm
convinced if Poyet had got the job we would be a far better team by now.

I'm not endorsing what is going on at the club, just saying I'm not
surprised McD has gone and I'm not too disappointed either.

Didn't Don Cellino pump loads of money in to Cagliari and take them to the
top flight from nowhere? I know he sacked 38 managers in 20 years along the
way.

[LU] Lets Calm Down

We have been spun dried with spin for eons.
I for one instantly disliked Haigh & last month started coming round.
But this last month changed all that.
We really do not know how much spin from whom we are getting right now.
But with all that.
We have a new owner. He's acted quickly & ruthlessly.
We have no alternative but to sit back and watch.
Anyone that thinks that it is better to depose Cellinho before he starts is
deluded. He may be knocked by the FL's F&PP. I doubt that. Cellinho is not
a muggins. Someone in his camp thanked the PL.
A challenge in court is no good for us.
No matter how it seems we have to wait. And hope.

Championship next season.

He could end up in the play off with Leeds.

Whatever happenshe can get his move in the summer.

He will walk out a hero tomorrow.

If Moyes had come in at 10pm as back up to Persie / Rooney.think he would 
stay ?

Astonishing reaction from Leeds fans tonight. We have been a joke of a club
without a pot to piss in for 10 years which has left us with the worst
Leeds team I have ever seen. A rich Italian with loads of cash comes in and
immediately starts throwing his weight around and fans are blocking him in
the ground and talking about demonstrations tomorrow.

Get a fucking grip!

Is it inconceivable that the performances on the pitch are a function of the 
shambles off it? I don't think so. I think that this is 'call me Dave''s fault. 
 This Cellino guy is a crook and a joke in Italy. 36 managers in 20 seasons I 
read. What possible positivity can you take out of this? The only positive I 
can think of is that I have so fallen out with the club I couldn't give a shit 
anymore.
