Re: [LU] Final Day
Out of the four teams in the play-offs, from an LUFC perspective I hope Swansea make it up, as otherwise we will have to dramatically change our fortunes playing away in London or Cardiff. Cheers! I was delighted for Barnsley … Having played so well against us, I thought they deserved a bit of luck, an ex LUFC U23 scoring for them too. The FFP is a farce and I would be very happy to see Derby and Wednesday punished, the problem here is we have a weak governing body (Except when it comes to us, conspiracy theorists … discuss! :)) and they will bottle it or cock It up. The Forest thing made me laugh … A LOT! It is SO funny when it's not happening to you isn't it? Not particularly bothered who does go up in the play offs, although Cardiff ARE a bogey team, so hopefully not them. To basically put at least one team in the bottom 3 next season, I'd probably hope for Fulham or Swansea! :) TTFN StigOfTheMusingDump On 2020-07-23 21:36, Kevin Lewis (UK SBS) wrote: > Forgot to give my views on the final day. > > Well played Luton for getting out of it. Re: [LU] Final Day
Some random reflections: Luton were bloody lucky! They prevailed 3-2 in a must-win game thanks to 2 ogs (1 from Bradley Johnson) and a penalty where I believe the kicker fell over as he hit it and the ball ended up in the top corner. Agree that Barnsley deserve to stay up. What an incredibly difficult run-in they had, and how well they played. Manager a complete Bielsa disciple of course. I am so pleased that B/ford crumbled. They tried to pile the pressure on us when the EFL disgracefully gave them a huge advantage by having them always play first. They did their best to increase that pressure by doing unsportsmanlike things like mouthing off and even going to the dastardly lengths of winning all their games! But as soon as the pressure was reversed a little, it was a case of "Brentford are falling apart, again." And I'm sorry, I don't retain much love for P. Jansson particularly. I don't like any of the playoff teams, but I deffo hope B/ford don't make it. As for Forest..beyond belief and completely hilarious. But they deserve it for a) getting a totally underserved point at ER, b) having a striker with a totally ridiculous beard, and b) celebrating like they were already up after they beat us at home. In fact they took the "post-beating-Leeds syndrome" to its fullest extent by I think not winning another game for the rest of the season. I reckon that the teams to watch next season will behang on...who gives a shit?! As for us, I have transferred my normal State of High Anxiety over to the question of whether Bielsa and White will be with us when we start. Surely El Genius will be, but Mr. Immaculate, not so sure.
