[LU] Leeds Programmes - Free To A Good Home

2015-07-04 Thread [broken-address] forzaleeds
Dear listers,

I'm in the process of packing up before a house move and have two boxes of
Leeds programmes that I won't have room for in the new house - it's not a
complete set by any means but covers a period from the early 1990s through to
the Champions League season home and some aways and a couple of years beyond.

Anyone interested please let me know - can be collected in London at the moment
or Wakefield from the end of the month.

If you want will post at your expense but it'll cost a lot of money given the
weight/size.

Cheers,

Sarge

Lots of high profile names being touted but no one actuallt being bought -
wouldn't happen to be season ticket renewal time would it?

I don't see how either of you can deduce that. Maybe a better approachtogossip,
although that's what you're both replying to... But we've signedayouth
goalkeeper from cardiff and a striker from Motherwell who has playedadozen
games for the first team. It's all interesting, but I don't see

I'llreserve judgement on Uwe Rossler, but so far he appears to bevery

Dave,
It does actually beg the question, what is hidden in the financial murk at the
centre of Leeds United that no respectable businessman wants to take a punt on
the club,

All the things listed below indicate the club would be a great investment even
for a "Mile Astley" type to spend a few quid getting us up and then running the
club on a break even in the middle of the Premiership - like Newcastle you'd
get a steady 40k a week and unlike the Toon at least for a few seasons nothing
but praise and gratitude.

Something is very rotten in the state of Denmark and my bet is that the main
stench is still Malignant Stoat.

Wow nearly 32k fans turned up to watch this end of season dead rubber, the
vastmajority buying tickets knowing that there would be nothing riding on this
game.Potential buyers , what are you waiting for ? We average over 20k but have
thepotential just under the surface of getting 30k every week if we are top of
theLeague. We still (just) have a global fan base and 'brand name'. We are a
onecity club and that is a city that is quite rich. Well done the Russian who
hasbought Bournemouth and got them into the Prem with the £120m that is worth
BUThowever long you are there and however well you do they will always just
beBournemouth, WE can be up there with the top teams if someone can come and
sortus out. The anti Cellino stuff never really happened. I did not see a
singelperson wearing purple in the pubs beforehand. There were a few "Massimo,
time togo" chants and a number of purple beach balls were thrown around the
stands.Instead there were a lot of pro Redfearn songs and even a couple in
support ofThompson but to what avail i am not sure. The game itself was once
again prettyforgettable - the team was the same as last week with Berardi being
the only exItalian based player on the pitch (Bamba has played in England
before) Despitethe fact that we were at home against a team that has spent all
season fightingrelegation and probably the last week on the piss, we still just
had Morison onhis own up front. I do think Redders has done well in impossible
circumstancesthis season but I really cannot see him as the man to take us up.
Rotherham had2 great chances in the first half - a missed header from 5 yds out
and anothershot that missed when it was easier to score. A few other times they
seemed tocarve us open to no effect. At the other end a 'goal' when the flag
for offsidehad gone up ages before by Morison and a back header right to the
keeper ouronly opportunites. Taylor showed why he is a defender when he dallied
when heshould have scored. So 0 0 at half time and pretty average fare. Then
came theonly 10minutes of the game worth re-watching. About 5 minutes into the
secondhalf and we turned up the heat and the tempo - we should and nearly did
score-one great move involving Mowatt and Morison was great. Sharp came to help
andhe added to the pressure etc -for a 10minutes spell we batttered them but
couldnot get the breakthrough and that was that. A few chances came and went to
bothteams and right to the end it was on a knife-edge insomuch as one goal
eitherway could have won it - but it was not great. So the game and the
seasonpetered out - we cannot score enough and do not attack enough at home,
the crowdreally got behind the team at times and showed how things could be if
things onthe pitch were right, but overall it was yet another poor game to add
to manythis seasonNot sure where we go from here - I posted my ST renewal
yesterday ,glad that it was free and not £445- but without some major changes
things willnot get better99 days till the start of
nextseasonDave___Leedslist

There has to be something wrong in the game though when clubs with the support
and history of Leeds, Wolves, Forest are unable to compete against a team with
a 10,000 capacity ground and a team supposedly put together from journeymen on
next to no wages - I wonder what a FFP investigation would reveal - apart from
the fact that Leeds, Wolves and Forest are all chronically mismanaged and run.

Rudy really gets the praise from Hudds paper in this report. I find it
hard to judge him he is so erratic both from game to game and within
games. One minute he does something great the next something awful and
it is hard to decide if the good outweighs the bad. He stats always
seem impressive but at least one of my mates would love to see the back
of him so poorly does he rate himTerriers fail to learn their lesson
with Leeds man AustinThe sight of Rodolph Austin, or 'Rudy' as Leeds
fans lovingly know him as, rampaging through Huddersfield Town's
midfield was one the home faithful had hoped to avoid encountering
again so soon after his masterclass at Elland Road earlier this
term.Bulldozing may be a more fitting description of his performance
here as he found himself slightly fortunate to avoid dismissal after a
series of over-zealous challenges on Joel Lynch, but his pugnacious
style was enough to intimidate a reticent Town midfield. In the reverse
fixture, it was Jonathan Hogg who was tasked with stemming the tide of
Austin marching his way through the centre of the field and while his
impact was not quite so devastating on this occasion, an inability to
stop his strong running opened up gaps for others to exploit. That
certainly looked to be the case as early as the seventh minute as the
influential Luke Murphy was afforded far too much space to clip into
eventual goalscorer Luke Byram for the opener.Austin continued to prove
a thorn in Town's side - quite literally at times - and even though
plenty had changed since the evisceration suffered at the hands of Neil
Redfearn's side in September, Town failed to heed the warning given to
them last time.___Leedslist
