Re Cuisance

French sports news:

Michaël Cuisance’s (21) consistently subpar performances have been one of
the more perplexing trends of Ligue 1 2020/21 - seems a complete shadow of
the player that showed such great flashes in the Bundesliga back in summer.
Cuisance has regularly been positioned as a #10 by André Villas Boas but
the player lacks the invention to unlock Ligue 1 defences & is also missing
the physicality to hold his own against the division’s robust defensive
midfielders.

Re: [LU] Forest tickets

2019-07-26 Thread Guy Bonello
ST holders can buy extra tickets after a certain time has elapsed , ie re
the Forest game:

Each 2019/20 Gold Member will be able to purchase one ticket per
Membership. Season Ticket Holders will be unable to buy additional tickets
for the fixture during the Gold Member sale date.

I*n the event that tickets are remaining following the Gold Members
priority period, we will look to release those to 2019/20 Home Season
Ticket Holders, who may apply to purchase one additional ticket at 9am on
Friday 2nd August.*

General sale will then commence on Monday 5th August, subject to
availability.

During the match Corbaran appears to do all Bielsa's translating.

Cairney will go to a Prem club

Agree with Mooy and Murray

Would add to the list:

Tom Lawrence from Leicester (was on loan at Ipswich this season)
Izzy Brown from Chelsea (was at Hudds)

It is so tight we are 4 points away from the Wendies in 10th

we've also gone 2 points above Rovrum and Chartlton, who are both at home to
top 6 sides this weekend

3 points on Satdi would be MASSIVE, especially as we have Boro (a) Brighton
(A) anbd Watford (h) to come after that

With Millwall also winning it does not do much in some ways but there are a
lot of teams now fighting to avoid joining Blackpool and Wigan in the bottom
3
A win on Sat would give us an 8 point cushion - we need to keep to the 5 man
midfield on Sat - they have a great away record
I also reckon Morison will get the goal that his play undoubtedly deserves
but since Millwall are his ex team he will not (be able to) celebrate
We were all right about Byram being a midfielder not a full back in this
team!

Sounded like we deserved it and Phil Hay tweeted at the end
Fantastic performance - Murphy superb, Cook superb, Sloth excellent. Who saw
that coming at 8pm?

Re: [LU] Lu: Appeal lost

2015-01-19 Thread Guy Bonello
GFH knew Cellino would not get immediate approval. There are seven pages
related to that exact scenario in the Share Purchase Agreement.

Project Athena has been fully acknowledged (in court) as a dossier compiled
on Cellino and his past convictions. GFH had a clause inserted in the SPA
that allowed them to buy the Cellino shares back for one pound if he failed
in his first appeal.

Cellino from buying the Club?

- Does Cellino have a future at Leeds?

Yes GFH knew all this and their plan was to get Cellino to fund the club to
the tune of millions and then for him to fail to get FL approval to be a
club owner. The club then reverted back to GFH and probably be put into
administration with an attempt at a pre-pack. Together Leeds (as was)
provided the FL with sufficient proof of funding (as willing buyers) to make
a pre-pack admin under GFH untenable and much to the surprise of GFH,
Cellino won the first hearing.
The FL cannot prevent people from buying and selling shares to each other.
They can however refuse to allow a club to play in the FL if an owner fails
their tests.
A future ?
My guess would be no, and there is good reason to expect that the football
authorities have had a thick file on Cellino for quite some time (before he
arrived in Leeds).

[LU] Lu: Appeal lost

2015-01-19 Thread Guy Bonello
Cellino is banned until mid-April as that's when the current conviction for
evading VAT on his yacht is considered spent in English law.

Later this year, he is up in court again in Italy in two separate cases
relating to evading VAT on a different yacht, and a Land Rover.
The details of those cases appear identical to the case he has already been
convicted of, so we can assume he will be found guilty again.
If he is, the League will haul him in front of their panel again and he will
be banned again, but this time it will be for 12 months because the
conviction is not spent until a year after it is imposed.

Separate to all that he is also under investigation relating to suspected
fraud to do with the redevelopment of the Cagliari stadium.
He's already been arrested and put in prison over that some time ago but was
released on bail. That investigation still has some way to go.

There also is another investigation into possible tax evasion relating to
transfer of players at Cagliari.

And of course he has already been convicted of fraud against the EU, but
Leeds cannot be punished for that as that conviction is spent.

Cellino's either really unlucky or really stupid. I incline towards the
latter.

Ross and wickham have played wide in the past , so was the only way to fit

Re: [LU] Non LU: ashes

2013-07-19 Thread Guy Bonello
There are over 3 days left, whilst the Aussies are shit they could still bat
2 days and get a score

It is still a good wicket to bat on

You'll give the bowlers a rest, much needed for Anderson especially

The wicket will turn on days 4 & 5 for Swann

Sticking them back in would give their batsmen an opportunity to make amends
for their failures straight away

Chasing 500 after 3 days fielded on an old wicket will be physically &
mentally horrific

We need some of our batsmen to get some runs

Why are England batting when they could have made the felons follow on?

Is this a decision based on money to stretch the game out or am I missing

Do we want a mega rich owner a la City / Chelsea where he will. plough
millions into the club but we will. be his plaything with Champs league in 3
seasons,

or a rich one who will. invest in the playing side, but in a sustainable
and sensible way, when it will. maybe take 2 seasons to get promoted and
then a few seasons cementing our place in Prem and maybe challenging for
Europe / top 4 in a 5-7 years or so ?

Not sure where you get 6 from, Damian !
There are 4 this month alone (1st, 8th, 17th, 28th) and when you add those
to Xmas Day, New Years Day, Easter Monday, All Saints Day (1/11), Armistice
Day (11/11), Bastille Day (14/7) and Assumption (15/8) I make it 11.

Even as a FOTL (Francophile on the list) those holidays plus the 35 hour a
week contracts French government workers enjoy means the question should
actually be:

Are the French just bloody workshy ?

Cheers,

Al

just seen that there are 9 public holidays in England this year. 9!! that's
3 more than here in France, and France has the world's highest productivity
to justify its 6 public holidays. Are the English just bloody workshy?

points short of the play-offs.

But at least none of the teams we have to catch currently have any games in
hand on us, and the team in sixth is now Middlesbrough, who are in terrible

You cannot go from lacking the basic skills to conveniently discovering
them.

Cracking goal. Again. And nice touch with the celebration - so much for
being selfish eh.

Nice come back, good spirit, good result. Just a few positives to take
from
the match - no doubt someone will be along in a minute to regale us with

As someone who agrees with pretty much everything Rich had to say about
Becchio.

He was atrocious in the first half. Second half he was like a different
player - he covered ground, he discovered a few touches, and he scored the
all important goal.

He's still shit though. :)

Actually Mike, it's quite the opposite. Bates has played hardball again
here with the player's agent. Normally, a player would expect a "loyalty
bonus" - a cut of the transfer fee, when he's sold.

But as with Schmeichel, he's been told that if he wants to leave, he has
to

ask to leave. And if you put in a transfer request, there's no loyalty
bonus. So Gradel had to put in a transfer request, and forego his
bonus, if he
wanted to go to France and trouser a pay rise. As a result, we keep
more
of the fee. It's good business - there's no way to force a player to
stay

these days. And Gradel was on a Bosman at the end of the season anyway.

Sign a left back, and stick White on the left side of midfield.

The club is spot on.
Make the money grubbing agents sweat and prove that they have something
better and it's worth their young players gamble.

One way or another let's get on with preparing for promotion.
  09 May 2011
Decision time for out of contract duo...

Midfield duo Bradley Johnson and Neil Kilkenny are both out of contract
in June. Both players are over the age of 23 and as such are eligible to
leave on a free transfer this summer if they so wish.
The club has had discussions with both players and their representatives
during the season but were unable to agree terms that were acceptable to
both parties.
The club will remain in dialogue with the representatives of the players
to establish if the situation has changed now we have reached the end of
the season and the club's league status is known.
Manager Simon Grayson expressed a desire that the players decide if their
future is at Leeds United as quickly as possible as he continues to assess
the make-up of next season's squad.
Grayson said: ''I want things concluding quickly so we can plan ahead and
move forward with certainty.''

The evidence against the West London club is said to be damning and they

The only winners would be Cardiff and Norwich who could then go up

The hearing into the signing of the Argentine midfielder two years ago

A four-man panel will comprise an independent QC, two from the FA's

In theory, they should begin with a blank sheet of paper but many at the FA

When West Ham were punished over the Carlos Tevez affair they were actually
found guilty of failure to disclose information - not of breaking third-party
ownership rules because such legislation did not exist.

Since then the FA have made third-party ownership illegal so the argument
is QPR were worse offenders because they were well aware they were committing
an offence.

If Neil Warnock's side are found guilty they will have seven days to
appeal.

However, if QPR take legal action or other clubs decide to seek legal
avenues because of points they lost when Faurlin played against them, the whole
issue could drag on throughout the summer.

The nightmare scenario could even be that the Championship promotion
play-offs do not take place at all until the issue is resolved.

[LU] QPR in trouble??.... points deduction please

2011-03-09 Thread Guy Bonello
Highly unlikely I know, but if it was Leeds that did this..

http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/11/03/09/SOCCER_QPR.html&BID=165

The Football Association have charged npower Championship leaders QPR with
seven breaches of regulations relating to third-party ownership and agents.

The charges relate to Argentinian midfielder Alejandro Faurlin, who signed for
Rangers for a club-record fee believed to be in the region of £3.5million in
2009.

The club have been charged with agreeing a deal with a third party for the
player's economic rights and allegedly failing to notify the FA of the
arrangement before registering Faurlin.

Rangers are also alleged to have used or sought to pay an unauthorised agent in
relation to Faurlin's registration in July 2009.

Furthermore, club official Gianni Paladini has been charged, along with
Rangers, over documents alleged to be false which were sent to the FA when the
24-year-old extended his contract at Loftus Road in October last year.

In a statement on their official website, the club acknowledged the charges
received by themselves and Paladini but denied any wrongdoing.

"Having co-operated fully with the FA's investigation, QPR and Mr Paladini
shall be denying all of the charges and requesting a formal FA hearing to
determine them," the statement read.

"QPR and Mr Paladini are confident that there has been no deliberate wrongdoing
involved."

Should the club be found guilty, the FA's Regulatory Commission will be tasked
with deciding upon a necessary punishment.

The issue of third-party ownership first came to light when Carlos Tevez wanted
to sign for Manchester United in 2007.

Swansea - traditional Sat KO - won
Sheff Utd - traditional Sat KO - won
Preston - Tues eve - lost
Leicester - Tues eve - lost
Cardiff - Mon eve - lost
Hull - Tues eve - drew (but felt like a loss)

So this season every traditional Sat KO we have won, and every

I actually asked Shaun Harvey this at "Leeds on the Road" in Malta last

His reply was that we would only have to pay about 3-4m to past creditors if
we go up to the Premiership before the 5 years is up, and compared to TV
money, etc., this is a piddling amount

To quote him "if we were offered promotion this season, we would take it"

Didn't we have a 5 year clause on that if we went back up within that time
we'd have to pay so much to creditors from the CVA polava?
Expect 2 more years of pisspoor Play Off final appearances with gate
receipts going to the losers!!

Does Ken want us to go up? Do we owe anyone if we do like the rumours from
before?

Agree with joe. The proper way would be decent season consolidation then
up next year but the financially good way would be up asap and take the
parachute money!

For an inital outlay of around €500 (including a 1.2m dish) and a €25 euros

- Sky UK (including ITV1)
- Setanta Ireland
- Sky Germany
- Sky Italy
- Orbit Showtime
- Al Jazeera
- Canal + France and Spain

and loads of others, including a Czech channel which show a 3pm Satdi

I don't have Sky at home and I just go to the pub whenever there is a game
that I'm desperate to watch (i.e. Leeds games and competitive England and
Republic of Ireland games). I'm not bothered about any other live games on
Sky.

The amount I have to spend on drink to justify being in the pub during these
games is less than having to subscribe to Sky at home, so this works for me.

sad but true. Sky subs are blooming expensive, but for Rugby League and

Yorkshire reception is currently pants all over the place, and given we

Other Freeview negative is you get Geordie-vision News - great if you want

Not wishing to start any sort of camel/curry/bates list war but I think sky
is brilliant.

I have had it since 1991 and have no complaints.

Sure there is a lot of channels irrelevant to me but I can choose comedy
music sport kids tv DIY holiday art stuff and so on whenever I want night or
day, a can now record it too!

The 5 terrestrial channels mean I have to pretty much watch what some people
in an office want me to watch. No rewind, no pause, no recording. 90% of the
progs are rubbish

Freeview changes this a little and is a welcome limited step. Freesat is a
good product too, virgin is ok but its a closed system that is playing catch
up.

There is noting to rival sky.
