Re: [LU] Tonight's team
Dear Mr Razzani I am a European automobile accessories consultant and watching your team recently made me think it could be advantageous to you to employ me. For example your Mr Anita clearly loves to watch the football and no doubt enjoying others displaying their skills on the ball. However I was thinking that if we added some wing mirrors onto his shirt he might be better able to notice the player he is supposed to be marking running away behind him and moving into dangerous attacking space. Similarly when your Mr Philips has possession of the ball he has to decide whether to pass it sideways to the Leeds player on his left, or sideways to the player on his right (or more likely perhaps to pass the ball behind the player). I thought it might be helpful if his shorts were fitted with reversing sensors, as whilst he is taking his time to consider these momentous decisions it might make him aware that opposing players are getting close with the somewhat unsporting aim of taking the ball off him. I can do you a “ buy one get one free “ offer on reversing sensors fitted shorts as these might also come in useful for Mr Vieira. For your Mr Sakho I would propose a Petr Cech style headband but with a Satnav attachment. I am sure we could develop other suitable kit enhancements which would make my £200kpa consultancy fee worthwhile. I don’t believe any other club would have such an in depth knowledge in this area and would give you a real edge Yours faithfully Vauxhall Victor Ortoparts ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org Find us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/leedslist/ RIP Jimmy WAC-COE

"If Green and Bartley can turn four of those into wins by being solid at the back" Alternatively if we've signed a couple of stiffs we could be in real trouble. Especially if Monk feels he has to pick them to save face (like McDermott with Kebe, Hunt and Stewart). Reading one of the Swansea fans forums suggests that the two we have signed from them are deadwood. Comments on Bartley include- "Clumsy lump without a drop of common sense". "Continually loses his man. Very poor attitude.Won't roll his sleeves up". "Switches off and does something stupid and high percentage of the time it get punished" Sounds familiar. My worry is we are just repeating the pattern of recent years i.e. wasting fees and wages on players who are no better than those we already have. ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER

Re: [LU] BHA
I think the issue of formations is largely blather, despite Glenn Hoddle’s views when he was England manager. England’s most successful manager since Sir Alf was Mike Bassett and he got it right with 442. It’s all down to having decent players using their brains. In the first half Brighton looked better because when they had the ball they always had 2 or 3 players in space, unmarked, to receive a quick pass. Their left winger and the no2 in the middle always seemed to have 20 yards of space around them and time to cause problems accordingly before any Leeds player got near them. By contrast as soon as a Leeds player received the ball there were 2 Brighton on him straight away and no outlets as the Leeds players just stood around with markers on them. Why haven’t we got a captain and manager who could see this and sort it, rather than just rigidly carry on with plan A which clearly wasn’t working? On Saturday Warnock kept Adomah quiet by keeping close to him-last night Byram was nowhere near the left winger. I am surprised no-one has commented on Ajose. I cant see what he contributes. No good in the air, cant beat a man, runs down blind alleys, cant put in a decent cross, and loses the ball almost every time he has it. In the second half, when Byram started to show interest, we had a few decent moves down the right but nothing down the left all match. We would be better playing Cooke orTaylor than Ajose-at least Taylor can cross the ball. ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org John 'Grampa' Sykes Rest In Peace old lad 28th Oct 1938 - 12 Nov 2013 MARCHING ON TOGETHER
Re: [LU] Accrington game
Excellent report. Agree with every word in it. I don't think Hock realises yet that Tonge is getting on a bit needs his nap after about 60 minutes. He was excellent till then , but suddenly started giving the ball away and putting us in difficulty. Pulling off Ajose and Cook ,who had been making good contributions, at the same time led to us losing control. If he had simply replaced Tonge by the 18yr old Benedicic then I suspect we would have carried on coasting it. Berardi made a similar Kung Fu tackle in the Dundee match. Perhaps someone needs to have a word. I accept Smith looks like a wooden lump with piles, but opposing teams seem to recognise him as a threat. Several times last night when he went for the ball there were 2 or 3 defenders on him, which creates opportunities for others. Holloway's no mug -Original Message- From: nat...@sky.com Sent: Wednesday, August 13, 2014 7:34 AM To: leeds list Subject: [LU] Accrington game Well it was not a game of two halves but it was certainly a game of two parts. For the first 70mins we coasted it, passing the ball, sometimes crisply and with good effect and sometimes just for the sake of it along the back four but things were looking good (have to bear in mind it was a home game v 4th Division opposition) and then for the last 20mins we were under the cosh - we could not keep the ball and we looked dead on our feet - so much for the 'fittests team in the league' We brought Taylor in goals, Taylor at left back and Berardi right back, Tonge kept his place but Cook and Bianchi came in in midifeld and up top we had Smith and Doukara plus Ajose. We began by keeping the ball but it was a bit pedestrian and involved the back 4 rolling it between themselves, then Doukara was involved twice , first he found himself in a good position and instead of getting a shot in he stopped , checked and looked for someone to pass to and the chance went begging. Not the mark of a goal scorer we said - any goal scorers first thought in that position is score, this lad is going to be another Keogh or Hunt rather than Beckford or McCormack. Then a few minutes later he had the most theatrical dive I think I have ever seen, in the box and he was challenged and managed to do a cross between a forward roll and a half somersault. Myself and those around me actually laughed out loud at it. He was soon to redeem himself however and how. First he got the ball with his back to goal and turned and drilled a good shot into the bottom corner - goal. Just the fillip him and the rest of the team needed as we began to turn on the style. Cook and Bianchi look like footballers, Tonge strolled around spraying passes, Ajose was buzzing around causing trouble and Smith and Doukara had them scared. We came close a few more times - a header by Smith just over, and then the highlight of the night. A lovely through ball by the impressive Cook and Doukara full of confidence brushed past the defenders and hammered it home - a great goal, this lad could be a real find Second half started in the same vein as Smith just volleyed wide and Doukara hit a shot just past the post that was as hard a shot as any from Yeboah ! Then it all (nearly) fell apart. We started to look tired, Bianchi and Tonge went missing and Acrrington suddenly looked decent running at us and causing us problems with everyday rubbish floated corners that we struggled to defend against. Cook and Ajose went off and on came Benedicic -a big unit who looks like Ronald Koeman a bit, and who had some decent touches - and Hunt, who came on to groans and then proved his detractors right - everything he did went wrong, his every touch went to an opponent or into touch. He was awful - a hinderence if anything. Doukara went off to a standing ovation and Poleon came on - it did not matter, we could not keep the ball and the inevitable happened, they scored. A cross was not cleared and it was scrambled in as Charlie Taylor tried to kick it off the line. This set up a nervous last 10mins made worse by one the most amazing 'tackle' I have seen - Berardi jumped two footed into the air and nearly took the lads head off - a straight red. Luckliy the nine men and Hunt managed to hold out and a victory in front of 13k was assured. Some bright spots - Doukara obviously, but also Cook and Bianchi (needs to be good for 90mins though) - Ajose was a poor mans Max Gradel but did Ok and showed promise. Benedicic looked to have something about him and Charlie Taylor has grown up. Having said that the best bit about the night was hearing on the way home that Bellusci has signed and Cooper is on his way - both centrebacks. Wooton is useless, we even gave him a 'captain courageous' head band a la Kisnorbo but he was still out of his depth a real disappointment , and as for Noel Hunt , he should never be allowed to play for us again. I did enjoy it though and if we can continue to
[LU] Fw: lost 2 - 0 at Mansfield
I dont know what Hock has done wrong yet. We lost at Mansfield because we let in 2 soft goals. The first when Morrison misjudged a ridiculous backpass and the second because Lees couldn't judge a header. It was Warnock who fetched Morrison in (it would have been better to simply give Becchio away-at least we wouldn't have had to pay Morrison's wages), and Warnock and McDermott who didn't deal with the fact that we need a commanding central defender -Lees cant take command and isn't comfortable with high balls-just watch a replay of Bolton humiliating us at home last season. [LU] Fw: Guisley
Well subject to all the usual caveats etc. about the type of game, the basics still apply. If you cant control/pass the ball against Guiseley you wont against Forest etc. The midfield was much of a muchness. Tonge looked head and shoulders above the other shufflers/sideways passers in that he could retain the ball, look up and see an opportunity and then deliver a long pass accurately. Cook looked promising-White might as well pack his bags he's probably moved further down the midfield pecking order. I had taken no.1 grandson. Just the sort of match to take youngsters to-no pressures, friendly atmosphere, local, free. There were plenty of similar families. Then along comes Waccoe warrior. More tattoos than brains. Biggest achievement in his life seemingly the ability to engineer the F and C words into every sentence. Clearly had a few drinks beforehand. Starts on Morrison straight away. Constant barrage. You're useless, you're fat, you're a C. why don't you F off etc. This is right at the side of the pitch and Morrison must have been getting fed up and I dont blame Morrison. I didn't think Morrison played badly. What balls got to him he laid off well and he linked up well with Taylor on the left. The trouble being Taylor then launched crosses into the box but there was no-one there, or at least not near where Taylor sent the ball. Morrison's not fat but he's also not McCormack, Beckford or even Becchio. He doesn't chase lost causes which some people interpret as being lazy, not interested etc. But it might mean he's not daft. One decent header apart he never looked like scoring. He's not going to get 25+ goals a season, especially if like yesterday there is no support up front. It might be interesting seeing him and Smith together. Walters looked lively when he came on-bye bye Poleon. The new GK didn't have anything to do. The other 2 Italians didn't show any wow factor and didn't seem better than what we already have, or just got rid of. I dont know about Carlton Cole-I was thinking a black Varney without the mobility or heading ability. I thought the strategy was to get a bloated squad down to a more realistic level, perhaps bringing in 2/3 players to fill key weaknesses. However we seem to be aiming to bring half a dozen or so (according to the press). Re: [LU] Reading, or, once more into the breach...
I think that report ties in with my own views. In particular the lack of any show of leadership from the manager or captain as the goals were going in. Nobody dishing out bollockings/encouragement/changing the approach to plug the gaps. What seemed to finally motivate the players on Tuesday was the abusive chanting from the crowd “we’re sh9t and we’re sick of it”. Plus the arrival of Smith. McCormack and Wickham never looked like scoring against Bolton. They may have shown their ball skills and done a spot of interpassing but too far away from goal to worry the Bolton defence. Enter Smith and it’s a different game-suddenly their defence is unsettled, we start getting chances and the team is lifted. Fast forward to Tuesday and have we learnt from this? No. Smith’s back on the bench and McCormack and Wickham are in the Reading defenders’ pockets. Was it Einstein who defined madness as doing the same thing and expecting a different result? Again when the game’s lost Smith comes on and we are transformed. I don’t think our front two had won a single ball in the air –all the hopeful punts forward from our defence simply ended up giving the ball back to Reading. After Smith came on we won most of the headers, they started panicking and our players and crowd were lifted. I wonder if we watch and have dossiers on other teams, and pick our players to suit. Bolton have some experienced players and a big centre forward. So against this we start with a central defence comprising a 20 year old goalkeeper who’s played twice for us, 22 year old Wootton who’s only played a handful of games (and looked shaky in those) and 23 year old Tom Lees who’s not exactly dominating in the air. They’ve never played together before and it showed. A disaster waiting to happen. Who had the role of “marshalling the defence?” It needed Peltier in the centre instead of Wootton , with Byram at right back. If Smith had been on from the start his height would have helped defending the set pieces and negating the effect of their big centre forward. Reading didn’t have any big forwards-but they were very nippy. So against them we bring in Pearce and Zaliukas who can both be described as approaching “lumbering”. We had effectively a five man back row at the cost of thinning the midfield-and no midfielders on the bench. So Reading ping the ball over our lumbering defence for their fast forwards to run onto. McDermott's spent the past year saying all the correct things to get the fans behind him. And now he's blaming uncertainty re the takeover. But he's brought Hunt, Kebe, Stewart, Wootton, Zaliukas, and Ariyibi to the club all of whom are draining the payroll for no benefit. Last season Byram and Green worked well down the right but Green's clearly been told to clear off by McDermott only to be snapped up straight away by Mick McCarthy who can recognise a decent player and has done a great job at Ipswich. So back to the Fortress again last night. Pretty much mirrored the Bolton first half – Reading were a faster, and more slick bunch than Bolton (and than Leeds), but the howler between birthday boy Butland and Pearce that handed them their first goal, aside there wasn’t much indication of the likely events of the second half. It was fairly mundane stuff a bit more zip from Reading, faster into the tackle, but not causing us to be overly concerned. Our lot were shaky at first before seeming to settle into the game a little…and a bit of confidence began to come back. And then we broke out our Keystone Cops routine again. 0-1 down, from nowhere, and everything falls apart. Suddenly Reading are at everything…snapping tackles, whipping the ball about, leaving our lot chasing shadows. And when we do get the ball, we rarely find another man to pass to. (Except Lees who can pick out some bloke in the West stand unerringly – probably his dad) We made it to half time with no more damage done…but what on earth do the manager and coaches say to the players at half time – for the second game running we fold like a paper house in the rain and within minutes we’re 0-4 down. Nothing short of shambolic. I don’t see a leader on the pitch or the touch line who is bollocking – cajoling – organinsing (and this is my problem with forwards as captains – they’re not at the heart of it…). I thought we were playing some form of 3-5-2…others thought it more 5-3-2 (which would a be a shameful line up at home)…but it doesn’t matter if people don’t pick up runners, mark their man, track back, get in where it hurts…because as Reading showed, they will waltz through and bang the ball home. So 0-4 after 52 minutes…that was enough for many (the old guy behind me who can remember seeing John Charles

[LU] Forest humiliation
Worse than Blackpool-at least we could use the 10 man excuse. That was really Grayson's epitaph with his players mainly playing to his system. All the old faults there to see. Grayson deserved sacking for buying Danny Pugh alone. Why cant people see that Becchio isn't a target man? There is no point aimlessly lobbing high balls towards Becchio when he is being outjumped practically all the time and if he does manage to get his head to the ball he has no chance of directing it to a Leeds player.Yet the likes of Connolly keep on with the hopeless punts. Why didn't anyone have the wit to see that all our moves seemed to be based on this tactic and were invariably losing posession, and therefore try something else? Re: [LU] Jimmy Adamson
The writing was on the wall for Adamson early on when he got rid of John Hawley to Sunderland in exchange for Wayne Entwhistle. Hawley was a Somma-type who had been a successful goal scorer at Leeds. Entwhistle had been an Adamson protege at Sunderland but was useless-imagine ball playing skills not as good as Becchio's, combined with Keogh's eye for goal. I vaguely recall us getting beat at home one saturday afternoon with Entwhistle being particularly dire. At the end they used to announce the other results and show them on a screen on the kop. Sunderland, had won 4-0 and Hawley had scored all four. They should have got shot then and begged Armfield to return. - Original Message - From: tim.whe...@talk21.com To: leedslist@gn.apc.org Sent: Tuesday, November 08, 2011 1:38 PM Subject: Re: [LU] Jimmy Adamson This is from a Burnley fans' website, which goes into Adamson's managerial career in a lot of detail. [LU] Fw: Blackpool report
There were some favourable comments from an old pro posted yesterday regarding Jonathan Douglas. Whatever his other failings I agreed with what was written and always thought he read the game well and saw things early. By contrast Kisnorbo often seems to see things late and this happened several times yesterday. A large number of Pugh's passes yesterday were hospital passes. I am surprised no-one has commented on the manager's tactics yesterday when Lees was sent off, we were 2 goals down to a team that had been outplaying us from the off. We weren't going to win so I wonder why Grayson didn't bring on O'Brian straight away to replace Lees and take off one of the forwards (preferably Keogh who didn't get a kick or header all night) and try to protect our goal difference. - Original Message - From: Phill Shields phillshie...@hotmail.com To: david.nat...@btinternet.com; leedslist@gn.apc.org Sent: Thursday, November 03, 2011 12:50 PM Subject: Re: [LU] Blackpool report David, I usually agree with your reports but I take issue with your comment about Kisnorbo looking like getting back to his best. Next thing a free unchallenged shot - where was the cover from the centre halves? The 2nd goal was a howler for the keeper and for the third I have no idea what Kisnorbo was doing when Lua Lua waltzed through to have a shot without anyone near him. The 4th goals was Connelly's fault for not not getting tight in his reshuffled centre half role and Kisnorbo was ball watching again for their 5th. As you say the game was over at 2:0 and I take your point about the fans response at the end. The abuse and booing that Rachubka got from the Kop was frankly a disgrace. Yes he had a mare and I doubt we will see him again but I don't expect to hear Leeds fans treat one of their own in that way. Last night's result falls squarely with one person, the manager. He took two major gambles in close season. Resigning Kisnorbo and taking on this keeper. Coventry was bad but he should have been dropped after Posh away because he cost us both goals. Kisnorbo has gone, end of conversation. Howson has become invisible since talk of extending his contract began and Clayton was totally ineffective last night. We had a serious talk on the way back with a few long time Leeds fans and we decided that it was indeed the worst performance by a keeper in our lifetime. The only ones that come close were Lukic v Arsenal (another 0 5 defeat) and Day v Barnsley when we lost in our promotion season (cannot remember exaclty what he did I just recall him being booed when he took goal kicks at the end)After a slow start there came 2 incidents which decided the game - their keeper spilled the ball and it fell to Kisnorbo who failed to score. Soon after a regulation shot was parried by Rachubka and fell to Lua Lua who tapped it home. What little confidence Rach had in himsef or the fans had in him evaporated at that point.- this was illustrated soon after when Rach spilled a simple gather and catch , it again fell to a striker whose shot hit Lees - at the time I though Lees was unlucky, but watching it again he deliberatley handled it and stopped a certain goal , so straight red it was. Rach failed to save the pen but it was taken before Lees had left the pitch and so had to be re-taken. A chance for Rach to redeem himself - if it was he did not take it and the re taken kick again ended in the net. Game over. We were all over the place after that and Blackpools slick passing game tore us apart as we chased shadows for the rest of the half. Things got even worse for Rachubka when he spilled yet another shot and again it fell to the feet of the striker who tapped it home. Half time came and a number of fans left. We wondered whether SG would subject Rach to another 45 mins of hell or bring on the kid. He chose to give Cairns a go and we saw the last of Rachubka for the night and probably for ever. A decent enough keeper but whose confidence was shot after his schoolboy error v Coventry - playing for Leeds just too much for him ?Second half we really went for a bit and did play with some pride and gave it a real go but it was never going to happen. Then with 15 or so minutes left a goal against the run of play as Lua Lua
Re: [LU] Fw: Blackpool report
I meant the Jonathan Douglas that played most matches in the season we reached the Championship playoffs, kept his place under Blackwell, Wise and Grayson, and left (like Johnson and Kilkenny) because he could earn more elsewhere. In his first season at Swindon he was voted supporters' player of the season and players' player of the season. But what would they know? He then turned down a new contract at Swindon for more money at Brentford who last time I looked were in league 1 not league 2 as you imply-you need to keep up mate. If we'd kept Douglas and played him at right back we would have saved money and had a better defence in recent seasons. We just crumbled and it's my opinion that Grayson has lost it when it comes to the defence and also in his belief that Danny Pugh is doing a job for him. Johnny Douglas - you're having a laugh mate. He couldn't read a game or pass a ball. He ran around like a headless chicken not actually contributing at all but giving the impression he was. To be fair we have still got both our wide players (Max and Snoddy) plus their back up - (Sam), and our only ever present midfielder (Howson) We have lost one fringe midfielder (Watt) and two regulars in Johnson and Kilkenny but both of these have as many (more?) bad features as good, and to me were one of our main problems - since neither of them together with Howson were good enough as a 2 man midfield we had to play 5 in the middle and that led us to having Becchio on his own up front and under-using Somma and McCormack who both looked good at times. In addition we have 'added' (at least brought back from loan) White, Nunez and Clayton, who, although they all have a lot to prove , have shown in glimpses either at other clubs or in the reserves that they may well have something to offer. Having said all that we do still need a midfield enforcer to supplement all the above and we obviously need a left back (cannot rely on Parker) another keeper, and probably a centre half to cover Paddy and O'Brien - both Bromby and Bruce have big deficiencies in their games. Clayton can replace Kilkenny and cant Bruce play in a midfield holding role? And I wouldn't rule out Charlie Taylor playing a few games at left back. May only be 18 but if they're going to be any good they are starting to get first team games at that age. Re: [LU] KO Saturday
That's the nub of the problem. Can we really believe that whoever is responsible for bringing in new players will actually improve the squad? If we continue with a policy of bringing in players who aren't good enough to get into the first team at places like Derby, Preston and Ipswich etc then we shouldn't be surprised if those players aren't good enough to get us promoted. And there is no point bringing players in who are no better than the ones you have and then cant get in the team. Like all businesses it's about cash flow. We have a big cash outflow on players because we have a big squad, several of which are superfluous. We need a smaller squad but spend the money on good terms to attract players who can make a difference. Last close season we brought in half a dozen players and we would have managed just as well without any of them. I am not suggesting these two are anywhere near the finished article and indeed might not make it as professional footballers. However they have a chance and giving them a run out would be both of interest to the fans and a boost for the Youth programme and help motivate the others for the future. Dalglish seems to be willing to throw the youngsters a chance. - Original Message - From: Richard Naef rich...@triumph-computers.co.uk To: 'LEEDSLIST' leedslist@gn.apc.org Sent: Monday, April 25, 2011 11:22 PM Subject: [LU] before you all kill yourselves. IMHO Grayson is our best all round manager for a long long time and if he has a blind spot it's not up front, it's at the back. if the Premier is awash with midfielders desperate to join Leeds on loan, why can't we find a couple of decent centre backs? Re: [LU] Clayton
If you say it's odd, that implies it's unusual. Unfortunately that's not the case , it's a typically poor Grayson deal. This is the man who invested in six players in the last close season of which only one (Casper) is likely to get a place in the team for the next game. Of the others Grayson eventually recognised what most fans could see last season ie that Collins was a potential liability, and got shot. Similarly Bessone is being shown the door. Connolly is being replaced, Bruce cant be trusted and Sam isn't as good as what we already had. Luckily Grayson inherited a squad with some potential-the mainstays of this season were all here before him (Snodgrass, Howson, Kilkenny, Johnson, Becchio). He's brought 40 odd players to the club in one form or other and only one of them (Gradel) has improved the team. Many of the players that were here when he arrived but who subsequently left (Delph, Beckford, Richardson, Douglas) were better than his acquisitions. - Original Message - From: Dr. Michael Benjamin. beden...@gmail.com To: list leedslist leedslist@gn.apc.org Sent: Thursday, March 24, 2011 1:35 PM Subject: [LU] Clayton After he impressed in the reserves was sent to MK Dons We got Livermore. Re: [LU] reserves 6 0 ft
Dont disagree with any of this. Delph used to strut around dominating these games and Clayton reminded me of him today. Perhaps this wasn't noticeable on LUTV but it struck me at the ground that our full backs were taller than our central defenders which is unusual to say the least. - Original Message - From: DAVID NATTAN david.nat...@btinternet.com To: list leedslist leedslist@gn.apc.org Sent: Tuesday, March 22, 2011 9:09 PM Subject: [LU] reserves 6 0 ft Parker was subbed at the interval but within seconds of the second half starting a good ball found McCormack making a good rum into the right hand side of the box and he hit a good shot across the keeper and into the net- a good finish, and really the finish of the game. We then mixed up some great play with some sloppy and over elaborate stuff. McCormack was determined to get his hat trick and fired a very long range shot just over, chipped another into the keepers arms and then had a curler saved, In amongst this their keeper made a world class re-action save from a Watt header from 3yds out. Watt also tried his luck from distance, They had nothing to offer and it was all fizzling out a bit when, with 10mins or so to go McCormack then did what he wanted to impress Grayson when a geat ball from Watt was met by Connonlly running onto it and getting to the bylne and pulling it back for McC to volley home - great strike and a well worked goal. Young Snodin came on for the last ten minutes, then McCormarck put the icing on his and the teams performace when he cut inside on the left and hammered home his 4th and our sixth. Watt and McCormack both stood out with performances that must surely get them back in theffirst team reckoning but for me the stand out man of the match was Adam Clayton - this lad can play, He can pass long or short, has good close control and can beat a man and showed a good engine with a couple of good tackles thrown in. On occasion he was too ambitious and too casual but he strolled around demanding the ball as if he owned the pitch and was the main man - a top performance from him - I know it is only a reserve game against inferiror opposition but I really want to see him given a real chance in the first team - I have seen a few reserve games o LUTV and he has always impressed, especailly his passing, and coupled with McCOrmacks movement, these two are a handful for anyone# Dave ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman-new.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER (There's it) ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman-new.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER (There's it)

Re: [LU] Portsmouth
More worrying is Kaspers tendency not to communicate or to command his defence well enough. He needs some experienced coaching in that department (as if I'd know anything about it). Spot on. For a start someone might suggest to him that it would be OK occasionally to come off his line and catch the odd ball rather than leave it for the other defenders to try to head. Also the second half was a bit like the old life of a pigeon joke Step 1 Portsmouth attack Step 2 Ball breaks to Leeds defender Step 3 Ball passed to Collins Step 4 Collins panics and passes back to Kasper Step 5 Kasper takes leisurely aimless punt upfield Step 6 Ball goes straight to head of Portsmouth player Step 7 Go to step 1 and repeat. It's not how Arsenal play. I dont think Kasper threw the ball out to the feet of a Leeds player once. Similarly (and particularly in the first half) McCartney made several bursts down the wing in support of Gradel who never passed to him once, chosing to turn inside and invariably losing possession ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman-new.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER

Richard Naef opined- Lord Eddie for instance mind you I don't doubt there were many in the crowd at Leeds who criticised him as a player too, bloody lightweight sick note shirker that he was. Too right. I clearly remember being upset that Revie had dropped Mike O'Grady, a hard as nails effective player to fit Gray in. Daft decisions like that cost us trophies. Still, what did Revie ever do for us, the Judas. ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman-new.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER
Re: [LU] Aye up
And what a vile list of useless spivs and parasites it is. Most of them have never done an honest ordinary job. Helps explain why Labour made such a mess of things and became so out of touch. They need to start picking candidates who have lived and understand the Area, and have experience of holding down real jobs, paying the mortgage and raising a family. Dump the political careerists from priviledged backgrounds and the Home Counties who have no experience.
