I don't mind admitting it I hate it when Becchio scores cos it just extends the day when we all realise that the bloke won't fire us to promotion and is not good enough at this level. Apparently the goals were tap-ins, one which keeper should have saved. Still credit to him for using his limited capabilities to the hilt. I agree with a lot of what you say about Becchio Rich but you can't criticise him for scoring twice away from home to seal a win. Re: [LU] 2 up
We all know what the end game is with Becchio - Torquay or Spanish second division or maybe Garforth town ? He's nearly half way to reaching his total for last year - well done but he has had patches like this before as you will in this league if you're essentially a goal hanger. But even today you can hear Eddie and Athlon saying ' you can't argue with 2 goals, he's done his job even if he hasn't done owt else' and that's the problem, when he goes on his 1 or 2 goals in 15 games runs he just isn't worth his place in the side. And that will happen sooner rather than later Right off to pub to moan about Becchio. They were not tap-ins. The first was a firm shot from 12 yards which the keeper fumbled. The other was a well-directed header from about 8 yards. He might be limited, but he does what he does. If so it must be a strange feeling - I support a player in white who gives 100% regardless of their limitations, and lets face it for the majority of the last 40 years most have had serious limitations, so its very simple for me. I think everyone agrees Becchio is not premiership class, but neither are 90% of players in the championship, but he does what he does with conviction and passion. He's about the only successful player we have had where there hasn't been some contract problem reported, maybe he's just got brilliant agent, but I suspect he appreciates he is at big club already and has committed himself to us rather than sniffing around Delia's arse. I can understand disliking a player like Roque Jr who took the money but contributed nothing, but Becchio is a good championship player and we would be a poorer team without him and with the takeover a non-event we are stuck with him, wouldn't your Saturdays' be h appier if you could just accept that? Re: [LU] 2 up
We're going over old ground on this one but all I would say is that he is still the worse player I've ever seen in a white shirt. By that I mean control, passing ability, pace, movement, awareness and acceleration ( he has none). Just a rubbish player who scores a few goals and let's not get carried away with the goal scoring record. 11 goals in 43 appearances last season. Everyone's singing his praises now 4 in 4 , magnificent .I can only go on the game I have seen to date - Wolves and he was as always shocking. We won't get promotion with him up front. FACT!! and don't give me the loyalty argument, no fucker wants him. Re: [LU] 2 up
Wa all said that about Bradley - yet look at what those cheeky sods at the Guardian are saying: 7 *Why Leeds is No1 for shopping* Norwich are one club to benefit from the talent drain at Leeds. On Saturday their midfield quartet featured three former Leeds players: Jonny Howson, Bradley Johnson and Robert Snodgrass, and all three impressed. There are bargains around in the lower leagues, especially if you drop in at Elland Road. *Jacob Steinberg* On Mon, Aug 27, 2012 at 2:59 PM, Richard Naef < rich...@triumph-computers.co.uk> wrote: > ...I think everyone agrees Becchio is not premiership class, but neither > are 90% of players in the championship... > > Richard > > ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org PETE CASS (1962 - 2011) Rest In Peace Mate

Re: [LU] 2 up
Just seen Becchio's goals - was his first going wide before the keeper directed it into the opposite bottom corner ? With the keeper so badly out of position any decent striker would have aimed for the other side of the net but Becchio aimed it straight at the keeper and got massively lucky. The second was effectively a header into an empty net with the keeper again out of position. I wouldn't have minded playing against him - biggest problem would have been back-ache helping the dozy bollox back to his feet 20 times a game! Am with Rich - unless he acquires some pace, control and pace again, he's not the answer.
