OR, we retain Corberan as manager, he starts to blend in the Under-23s who won
the national title last year (and on penalties - an actual winning mentality,
compared to the senior squad), keeping the best of the Bielsa system while
tweaking to allow things like different tactical set-ups for different
opponents, squad rotation, set-piece routines, a club psychologist, etc. You
never know what might happen, especially if supporters and pundits expect us to
fail, rather than expect us to win every game (which heaps pressure on the
team).
Cheers!
Sean

Nah. Losing play off semis again. Bielsa leaves in summer, we go back to normal
next year: journeyman boss and 14th.

At least then we can remove the hope.

Re: [LU] Still a glimmer?

2020-02-09 Thread Robert Heath
Yeah obviously I know that. I did say it was just a glimmer!

But looking at it optimistically..there were something weird going
on at that Wigan game. Somehow, we were going to lose that, just like we
did last year, no matter how impossible those outcomes were. (That's why I
said: we don't have to play fucking Wigan again!) And yeah I know we have
failed to beat many other teams we should have crushed. But we are
definitely going to dominate all those games, and, if Bielsa, and the Law of
Averages, are right, at some point we are going to start getting a bit of
good luck to balance all the recent bad luck in front of goal.

(Incidentally, I just read a computer prediction made AFTER yesterday's
result which has us WINNIING the league by 1 point.)

we've just been beaten by Wigan - they've hardly won an away game away for 2
years but still beat us twice. There are no easy games for us especially in the
current form we're in.
