Re: spam

2010-02-20 Thread Tim Krause
Hi Mac,

I'm currently working on getting moderator or owner status of this list to
deal with the spam. We currently do not have a person that can delete spam
or remove offending users. Unfortunately the process is slow and indirect.
There is a Google Support Forum that people can post problems to. An
advocate reads the messages and forwards the message that require Official
help to a Google Team reprehensive. My request has been forwarded twice
since I posted in January with no response as of yet.

Do not follow the links or read the messages. There is a likelihood of
attracting a virus or Trojan. I occasionally go to our group online and hit
the link for the spam message to Report Spam, but I don't think it has any
real effect.

If it really gets bad and we cannot gain control of the group we can switch
back over to the Original Yahoo group. I'm the current owner and moderator
over there.

Re: spam

2010-02-20 Thread Tim Krause
I'm in the process of finding out who the owner is. There is no way for
members to know the owner of the group. Only Google employees can see the
owner. There is a link in our group page to Send an Email to list owner
but I have used that with no success.

Art did start the Yahoo Legacy Ornamental Group, and has passed on the
moderation and ownership to myself. I would hate to see us shift over
there, but it's always an option at this point.

Tim is there any way to contact the owner of this group? or at least find
out who it is? I remember Art stating that he was the owner, I know that
he
also tried to start a Yahoo group, because Google would not help him,or
 explain how to post pictures.
I have any idea! I will talk to you all latter.
 Perhaps this will work?
