Hello Mike
Welcome back! ;-)
I cant believe that only 68 people have watched your video (crank indexing
), that means only one or two other people besides me has watched it. ;-)

I guess you can tell by my statement, that I really like the video Thank
you very much for making it and sharing it with us Mike.
Now on to the questions, Why modify your router bit? isn't there a side
cutting bit on the market that would cut the same depth that you need? and if
not couldn't you cut form the top with the same results?
Wow the speed that you can do that is Amazing! Thanks for showing us this
trick of yours.
Have a good day.
talk to you more latter.

Figured I would get this back out again since there wasn't much talk
about the technique. Have a look at the videos
The first is Crank handle indexing
  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHgzEKnON-o&feature=context-gfa

The second is using the carriage to set the starts for a 4 start rope.

  Thanks for watching

  Mike

Pepper Mill

2012-09-23 Thread Barry
My first pepper mill. l used black walnut ,stock is 2 3/8 in. x 12 1/2 . l
used the F gear and standard gears that came with my 900 and 4 starts.
Plus a 1 1/2 in. rope moulding. l've made some pens with a1/2 in. rope.
This started out as my second experiment , fortunately it turned out well
and l used my lathe too. The hardware was 12 in. from Lee Valley. Later or
until the next project. Barry
