Re: The miniArty

2013-01-11 Thread Stan
Bill, some of the Legacy on-line classes are on the website under Videos.
Some are done by Tracy, some by John and some by Chris. They record the
classes and say that eventually the classes will be posted on the web site.
I record the ones I attend so I can go through them at my own pace.

Tim, I pretty sure splines are not in Aspire. I convert splines created in
TurboCad to arcs before importing into Aspire. I use TurboCad Designer
which is what Tracy uses. It believe I paid $20 for it and it does
everything I need to do. There is a new version of Aspire due out soon
which has a lot of enhancements including improved drawing functions for a
$400 upgrade fee. I saw it demonstrated at the Vectric user group meeting
in Cincinnati.

Re: The miniArty

2013-01-11 Thread Tim Krause
Are the splines really converted to arcs? Most cad programs create lines.
This can create jerky motions if the cam program does not simplify the
geometry.

Various Pictures of Revo

2013-01-11 Thread Begat
Hello,

I could really use some close up pictures of the basic set up for the
Revo. The unit I just purchased came with none of the normal manuals,
videos, etc. that Legacy normally does.

Much is intuitive, but not everything. Also, I think I am missing part of
the split nut and would like a picture of it.

Re: New Self adjusting steady rest

2013-01-11 Thread Dexter Bland
Really cool idea Curt. Is there a reason that the top arms are not
wider apart and the the two arms connected with one spring? That would
make the design a little more simple. Wouldn't the part you are
cutting keep the jig centered or does it need the centering that the
two springs provide? Just food for thought.
Dexter

Please let me know what you think?
But So far I'm pretty happy with the results. ;-)
