Hello Bill
It looks like they do, and always did make these bits, Its just That I never
seen them before. I own a two bearing reeding bits, the 1/4 radius and the
3/16 radius, perhaps the 3/8 one or larger will work for my plans? In the worst
case I can go the route that Mike did? and make my own. I know the look that I
want, but all the details are still a little sketchy at this point. ;- )
I wish that I could aford $5000 worth of router bits. (I know what you went
through to get those, And I dont want to go there.) ;-)
Thanks for your reply Bill. Im always trying to keep an eye open to any new
equipment that I can find. (with a budget in mind.)
Have a GREAT DAY.

Hello everyone, I just found a few bits on Mangate web side that Ive not seen
before. I own a few Reeding bits that Magnate sells, but these bits have
bearings, I did not know that thay sold these bits with out bearing. As I can
see the only bit 7697 1/2 radius, is the only bit that is not covered by the
other set

Ive been looking for a reeding bit what a good sized radius but one with a
small bead hight, (I dont want a deap cut, but one with a well defined radius,
To me it looks like the 3/8 radius is the best choice for my project.

The purpose of this message is two-fold, One to let you all know what I found,
and did not know that Magnate sells, and the Other is to ask you all if you
know any other router bit company that sells a bit like what Im looking for.

Thanks a lot. I hope everyone has a good day.

Now,Go out there and making saw dust. ;-)

RE: Magnate router bits

2014-03-26 Thread Bill Bulkeley
Yes the first time round that 5K of bits took years and years to get. needless
to say this time round magnate liked me a lot that week lolol

But I must say $10 worth of bits or 5K worth they treat their orders with the
same professionalism a truly great company to deal with. It’s a shame they
don’t do any legacy parts much anymore as well I always got what I asked for
every time.

MCLS is a place that i have ordered some of my router bits. They do make
some that fit the legacy type of milling. Take a look around their site to
see if they may have what you are looking for. Some bits look to be a
little cheaper than Magnate and some more.

Attached is a link to another one of their new products that looks
interesting to me to make a Z-axis. I have not had the shop time lately to
investigate to see if this will fit on the plate of the 1000 unit that i
have, but this looks to be much more beefy construction that some of the
other router mounts in the past that I have considered.

Thank you Dexter. I will take a look , at the router bits.

As far as your Z axis idea, its one that I have had as well in the past, The
only problem that I can see what this, I just dont see much of an advantage of
using it, Meaning, Yes it looks solidly built, and Im sure that tight
tolerances will be easily make-able., But you will not be able to get any more
depth of cut than what you already have with the plunge router. Of a matter of
course you could modify that unit, but is the work worth the effort??? (that's
a personal choice that only you can make.)
To tell you the truth, I too, am on the quest of making myself a better Z axis
for my 1000ex as well.
I will let you and everyone know how my project works out, After Im done. ;-)
I wish you luck, and a good night.
talk to you more latter.
