Re: mill for sale

2019-09-07 Thread 'Curt George' via Legacy Ornamental Mills
OK Mac.I did not see that.  I was hoping it was there? after-all nothing would
work without it... ;-) Now we need to look for the Acme nut for the carriage.
;-p
As I said earlier,From the posting, the man says he had to cut photo's out to
make room in the E-bay posting.  In Good faith, this looks to be a nice machine.
Have a good night.

 Curtis,
Go to the next to the last photo - the one with the 2 good sized pieces of MDF
with bolts & wingnuts in them.  Then look over on the far left side, running
parallel with the left edge of the MDF panels.  See the long Acme threaded
X-Axis rod?  The Acme rod (Y-Axis) I referenced earlier (in a different thread
about this Mill) as being rusty is rustier that this X-Axis rod.
Any idea what these two MDF pieces are for?  My guess is they were to be put
horizontally between the two lower frame extrusions - serving as a work surface
for milling flat work pieces.

Conroe, Texas Mill on eBay

2019-09-07 Thread MWF
Curtis,You switched Mills on us.  I'm changing the Subject line to:  "Conroe, Texas Mill on eBay".   (The one you commented on earlier in this thread was in Florida.)I looked this eBay posting over - and I feel it is a legit listing.  Yes, they don't show the actual Mill - but their write-up "Talks the talk", and he does post photos of Legacy accessories like the "Swan neck" steel templates, Design Kit, many of the Legacy pubs/magazines, etc. And, by the way, did an EXCELLENT JOB neatly organizing/arranging the items in the photo that has the Pilaster Mounting Dogs, 6 of the 7 Drive Gears (7th is probably on the Mill), the 5 router bits they mention, etc.   We could only wish Everyone selling stuff on eBay, CraigsList, etc. would do as good a job as this person did on most all of the photos they posted.  I do notice that in the 1st photo they have blacked out the price that was originally printed in that "starburst" in the bottom right corner.  Anyone know what that $number was that is blacked out?I also feel that the prices he said he paid track with the numbers I remember them being.  One item that is conspicuously "absent" is any mention of the Rotary Table.  I would have expected a Mill that seems to be as "tricked out" as this one is to have a Rotary Table.  They seem to have everything else! Thanks for sharing.Mac-Original Message-

Hey guys one more NOTE.On closer look, I do not see a acme screw in the
photos.  I hope this is just a mistake? the owner stated like new, and limit on
photos. perhaps it is just not on the unit when the photo was taken? (photo #3.)

How do you like you 4224 Mike? She's a beauty through and through, only
wish I had the extension though. This last job
I ended up putting my Shop smith live center in to get the length. They say
its 42 but it will not do more then about 36 if your lucky.
I sure do some checking on that as the stats claim 42 from center to center
