But - If you start zooming in, Bill's will start to pixelate a lot sooner than
yours will.
The first ones you sent out were REALLY bad.
Thanks for "fixing things" and re-sending.

Hey Bill,

Yeah I put my Z axis system back on to run more of the dado's and grooves that
i do.

and put it on the left that way I can still leave my plunge router over on the
end where I

tend to play at the moment. I like the plunge action much better for getting
down into

cut and back out. So much quicker. but the Z axis saddle has a prominent place
in what

I am doing when horizontal and vertical milling. Grooves and Dados etc...

I do need to get another complete split nut system for the acme thread though.
Currently

I manually slide the Z axis Carriage/saddle.

Thanks - but - they arrived as postage stamp size images (VERY low resolution)
and when I try to zoom in on them, they pixelate so badly you can't tell
anything about what you then see.

Whenever you get the chance (next week or so), will you please send higher
resolution photos?

Thanks again.

So Bill, you run with two tail stocks in the center and the headstocks on both

As for another split nut didnt you buy the 5/8X4 acme tap on ebay like
me and curt did?
That way you can make your own.

I have been doing a lot of dado's on my LOM 1200
This has been working extremely well as you can see what your doing.

Set up is as quick as the router table or faster and far easier to see.

I'd assume no big deal to most but this machine has to own up to the

space it uses in my shop.

I have done many 1/4 dados and several 3/4 X 1/4 deep for cabinet work.

Tim,
Thanks - but - they arrived as postage stamp size images (VERY low resolution)
and when I try to zoom in on them, they pixelate so badly you can't tell
anything about what you then see.
Whenever you get the chance (next week or so), will you please send higher

So Bill, you run with two tail stocks in the center and the headstocks on both
ends then right?

As for another split nut didnt you buy the 5/8X4 acme tap on ebay like
me and curt did?
That way you can make your own.

Here I used the Horizontal vise other times I have a piece of MDF that I mount

on the rails just for dado's

Re: Dadoing drawer sides on the LOM1200

2021-08-08 Thread Tim Ziegler
Hey Bill

Yeah hard to believe all the bells on my WC right. I put a different
router on it a bit ago too. I had to make a new router plate for it. Was
Plexi and it just seemed to crack in about 50 PCs. I glued it back together
to copy it as a pattern. Made one from the self healing white plastic.
Slides super smooth now. I need to find another couple drive motors though
because that's where I took the drive for my 1200. Anyway nice unit.
Raining this morning so might be a good day to play. Lol

Re: Re Group security

2021-08-08 Thread Brigitte Graham
Bill, Tim K
Thanks!
Like I said, I am quite capable of just deleting these unwanted emails.
I am more concerned about how they got my details, and I am guessing that
it might have been through our LOM group, because it is my only contact
with anyone from the USA.
Cheers
Brigitte

Morning/Afternoon People,

I am a little worried that the group's security has been breached.

Here in the UK, I am getting lots of emails from USA insurance/home security
firms pushing me to install one of their systems. I know I can (and do) just
delete the emails. The only contact I have with USA is through this group, so I
am assuming that our LOM group has been infiltrated?

Please could someone check this out?

Cheers

Brigitte

Yes my last goal is to own a legacy Z axis I know I can make one but I would
like a legacy one too. And of course I always want your rotary cross slide
yours is the only one I have ever seen.

Right, but you can slide both tailstocks all the way to either end to do really
long work if necessary . I have even milled 2 separate operations and different

So Bill, you run with two tail stocks in the center and the headstocks on both
ends then right?

Yes thats why I run 2 saddles, 2 headstocks, 2 tailstocks and 2

As for another split nut didnt you buy the 5/8X4 acme tap on ebay like
me and curt did?
That way you can make your own.

Here I used the Horizontal vise other times I have a piece of MDF that I mount

on the rails just for dado's
