No problems, Tim is right. There are many ways to any job done. Argon on a MIG wielder would work nicely, Stick wielding with a 1/8" rod perhaps 1713 would also do nicely. Use tack wields first, they are easer to make.Wielding is an art form, Learn the basic first, Like the Legacy there is a learning curve that needs to be understood first, then practice, practice, practice... Re: Eric 900
Erica easer way to make Your handle with out wielding would be to drill your holes for the handle and then file the rectangle. That or, how about what I did for the pulley that I use for my spindle motor. All that I did was cut and file a slot that fits the headstock shaft, the pulley is held in place by the screw. Wish you luck. Cant wait to see how you make it. C.A.G. On Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 09:28:44 PM EST, Eric Gantner wrote: Curt, No reason, I just wanted everything out of way. Re: Eric 900
At the tail end of the bed is a red crossmember with a long oval cut out on the beveled part. what is that for ? and does that red crossmember connect to the frame or the bed? what's the bevel for? Looks like a great machine Eric, especially with the adjustable z axis so you can see what the bit is doing. Does the z axis have delrin that travels up and down in the alum rails..kinda like the Y ? Thanks for posting all the pics. Your rails might also be very slightly out of line too with the saddle at the tight end loosen and retighten the screws holding the rails and also the screws holding the saddle top hat this may help it doesn’t take much to stiffen it up slightly some one may tell you to file the Delrin top hat slightly that is a last resort after trying everything else first Because elsewhere with then will be too loose Bill From: legacy-ornamental-mills@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Eric Gantner Sent: Thursday, 9 February 2023 1:33 PM To: legacy-ornamental-mills@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Eric 900 Bill, I need to recheck everything then, mine is not that smooth especially towards the tailstock end.
