Hello All,

I haven't used my LOM 900 for a few months, so today I cleaned and lubed it up.
As part of that effort, I noticed that the head-stock has a bit of play in and
out along the X axis - about 75 thou. I'm curious if that is inherent in these
machines or has mine developed too much slop. If the answer is too much, what
do I do about it?

Thanks very much in advance.

RE: Head-stock Play

2020-03-31 Thread bulkeley
Some of the legacys the later versions had ball bearing head stocks which
stopped this problem. Curt added ball bearings to his mill I’m sure he will
chime in soon and show how he did his.my mills all had ball bearing head
stocks. But the mills I have now don’t so I will replace the Delrin bushes with
ball bearings when they become sloppy like yours.
