Re: The Mother Load Update

2021-04-12 Thread Tracy Smith
Thanks to all those that have reached out to me. I'm letting the guy that
is interested in my 1200 CNC Upgrade have first pick. He is deciding in the
next week or so. After that, it does look like there is enough interest in
these parts to break up the machine.

So far the only parts that I haven't been pinged about is the 2x gear and
the Right Hand directional assembly.

I just wanted you to know why I haven't replied to anyone directly yet.

I will follow up next week.

Thanks,
Tracy

RE: The Mother Load Update

2021-04-11 Thread wm.o.henry
Tracy,

I’m interested in the motor and limit switches, .25x gear set, horizontal vice,
thin stock support, circle cutting center, and rotary table and shaft. I think
that comes to $795? Figure up the cost of shipping to Baltimore MD 21227 and we
can work out payment.

Subject: The Mother Load Update

Hello all,

Sorry for my late update. A couple weeks ago, the guy that has been really
interested in owning a LOM for some time was able to meet with me and pick what
he wanted. He came over with his dad on a Saturday morning. We spent nearly 4
hours together. We went over all the features of each machine: Model 1500,
Model 2000 and the Model 1200 with the Performance CNC Upgrade. We made a
simple 12" three start rope twist on each.

After all that, he decided on the Model 2000. However, he really wanted the
Z-axis upgrade that was on the 1500. So we moved the Z-axis upgrade onto the
Model 2000 and he bought nearly every accessory that I had and several bits.

I've attached a picture of the machine all loaded up and headed to its new
home. He drove over 3.5 hours one way so it was a very long day for him and
his dad.

I've shared with him this group as well as many of the other online resources
available. Hopefully we'll see him join this group soon when he starts playing
with it. His name is Chad.

So that means I still have the Model 1200 with the CNC upgrade and the model
1500.

Regarding accessories, I have the following:

- Rotary Table

- Rotary Table Shaft

- Horizontal Vise

- Thin stock support

- Circle Cutting Center

- .25 Reduction Gear set

- 2X Duplex Gear set

- Porter Cable 3 1/4 HP plunge router

- Eliminator Chuck

- Right Hand directional assembly

With the discussion from this group over the last few months, I wonder if it
would make sense to part out the 1500? I know I acquired so many LOMs because
of my concern for parts. I would really like to see the rotary table and shaft
go with the CNC as I always had plans to create some cool stuff with that. I
have someone interested in the CNC so I'll wait to see what happens there
before offering the rotary table and shaft.

With that said, if I parted out the 1500, the following parts would be
available:

- Motor and limit switches

- Full driver gear set

- The rails and parts from the frame of the machine (rails, locking collars,
double locking collar, tons of fasteners unique to the LOM, etc.)

- The accessories mentioned above

If anyone has serious interest in any of the parts above, please reach out to
me. Regarding pricing, this is how I would price each part:

- Motor and limit switches: $400

- .25X gear set: $100

- 2X gear set: $100

- Full set of drive gears: $85

- Horizontal Vise: $50

- Thin Stock Support: $25

- Circle Cutting Center: $20

- Eliminator Chuck: $40

- Rotary Table and Shaft: $200

- Right Hand directional assembly: $35

- Router: $150

- Rails, Frame, and other parts: $TBD but I will be very reasonable

Shipping would be additional cost. I don't mind the extra work for shipping so
I will only pass on the shipping cost.

Regards,

Tracy

Regards,

Tracy

I used the standard gear set with every 3rd hole for spacing.

I think the off set I'd have to measure. Did you look at my brackets I showed

Hey Mac,

no ice fishing today if thats what you meant.. Sorry maybe still not thawed' lol

It stayed above 44 degree's last night and has been windy so may just

wait a couple weeks and dig out the boat.

In then mean time, my second oldest Son come up for dinner today and

actually wanted to see what I'd been working on. So I had him help me

turn a spindle round, Hes; never ran my lathe. Then we proceeded to go

to the Legacy, which is what he wanted to see working so we did this spindle

with the wave. I used the small pen turning router bit Bill had suggested,

and that I used on yesterdays.

So I added a starting point and ending point and it just added that much

more to it. Best thing is I asked him if he could see himself owning a LOM

and his own shop some day and he said he would like it.

Next gen LOM owner for sure.

So tomorrow is back to reality and no more playing hee hee. maybe.

Those with brain freeze take a bit longer. Talking about brain freeze - did
you know that that is one malady/condition that "blondes" do not get?

Are you "off the ice" yet Tim?

2021-03-21 Thread Tim Ziegler
Hey bill yea I think 1 3/4 just a hair over.
I used the standard gear set with every 3rd hole for spacing.
Same bit as you'd suggested yesterday. that was what he thought looked
good.
as for the small drive gear I think the second smallest.
I think the off set I'd have to measure. Did you look at my brackets I
showed you?

Hey Mac,

no ice fishing today if thats what you meant..

So tomorrow is back to reality and no more playing hee hee. maybe.

Hi all,

It is with a bit of sadness and excitement that I have decided to sell my LOMs.
I love Legacy machines. I had the opportunity to upgrade to a Maverick for a
great deal so I jumped on it.

I'm mostly sharing this with this group because I know how much this group
loves these machines - as I do. I've been able to acquire a ton of accessories
for my machines as I never imaged I would sell my LOMs. I thought I would share
with this group a few pictures of all the extras.

I've already got one very interested person in my area that put money down so
he could have his pick of everything I have. In the next week we expect to
spend a few hours together making stuff on each machine machine. He will learn
all the ins and out and then decide. I will make sure he knows about this group.

The machines I am selling are:

- Model 2000

- Model 1500 w/Z-axis upgrade

- Model 1200 with the Performance CNC upgrade

I hope to find great owners for each machine.

Even when I sell all the machines, I would be very surprised if I still didn't
have several accessories, but we will see.

Take a look, hopefully you will enjoy the pictures. I will divide the pictures
between a few emails so none get lost.

Regards,

Tracy

all the ins and out and then decide.

Regards,

Tracy

Thanks for thinking of our Group - and sharing with us the "opportunity".

Just to forewarn you: We have a Group member - who shall remain "nameless" -
who is probably already on his way out to your place to scarf up that beautiful
LOM 2000! Hint: He will be flying in to Utah from New York.

Some really nice Mills you have there. I know there are several Group members
(in addition to "Down Under Bill") that are salivating over the prospect of
buying whatever you have left.

Thanks for passing on the info re: our Group to the "new" owner.

Regards,

Tracy
