I have used the TB II Dark with walnut and some other dark woods.
Worked out well.

What color does III dry? Walnut!

Thanks.
Out of curiosity - why TB III for walnut (always)?
I generally have used:
"Original" - only on occasion and even then always for "indoor" stuff.
TB II - for most all my wood gluing that does not need a higher level of
"waterproofness".
TB III for anything that will have outdoor exposure and anything that may be
subject to occasional "dunkings" - like a cutting board or a toy "boat".
Mill on!

Titebond II One is too runny for posts. One is best if you are indoors and
going to use a roller to apply. 3 is for out doors or if I am gluing Walnut
anywhere.

Mike,

Thanks.
I figured that that's what those short blocks around the interior were for.

What is your "go to glue" - if these were being installed:
Indoors? __
Out doors? ___

Bill,

Thanks. In the write-up by Art and Mike on gluing up birdmouth cuts, one of
them mentioned use of "glue blocks"

("... with a larger column of this size each stave needs a .5" by .5" clamping
block about .5" from the edge. Short blocks can break off as there can be
considerable clamping pressure needed if there is wood movement." )

Would you please explain this - and perhaps include a diagram as to what they
were recommending and where it/they would be attached?

Mike - maybe you can chime in as well - since you and Art were the ones in the
write-up. Thanks.

Thank you.

These are "NOT" mine, but ones that I found in Facebook.

These are simple enough that any Legacy user could make these bird houses.

Just something to think about.

What I do is stand them on the 90º side all next
to each other and glue the birdmouth side.  Lay them flat and
run a piece of duct tape under the edge and leave a tail on the
right side.  Do this for both ends.  Now they will just roll up
the left side and then the right and then push both side
together and flip the Duct tape around to hold things in place.
Now I use stretch film to wrap 20 layers on both ends.  And then
about every foot or so in the length, I make three or four wraps
of stretch tape to act as a barrier to keep the glue off the
ratchet strap.  I then place a strap at each area of stretch
wrap with a twice around wrap.  Then make sure the ratchet is on
a flat and not a point and cinch them down.  Now I take a dead
blow hammer and beat the snot out of all the joints.  This will
settle any lifts and will true the column up nicely.

I seen in one of the pictures there were block in
the inside.  Those were a resting place for the end caps and had
nothing to do with main assemble gluing.

Unless giving them as Christmas gifts or selling them for under $25 you’ll be
stuck with them, just did a well established high end Holiday show in West
Springfield, MA that cost $8 just to get in and a $500 Vendor fee very little
sold for anything over $25.

These are "NOT" mine, but ones that I found in Facebook.

These are simple enough that any Legacy user could make these bird houses.

Just something to think about.
