LOOKS GOOD Dave! One work of advice buy a quick release chuck for your router. The eliminator chuck or muscle chuck are both a huge advantage over the old compression stile router chucks.(the one that comes with your router.) http://www.rockler.com/quick-change-musclechucktrade-musclechuck ., http://www.amazon.com/The-Eliminator-Quick-Change-Chuck/dp/B0007OTTJM and while we are on the topic buy both the 14" and 3/8" adapters. you will find these little gems very handy. http://www.rockler.com/1-4-collet-reducer-for-musclechuck-quick-change-router-chuck?sid=v9100&gclid=CJPL-5_8u8QCFYI6gQodRRQAHQ http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search- C.A.G. - Original Message - From: "Dave" To: legacy-ornamental-mills@googlegroups.com Sent: Sunday, March 22, 2015 1:44:47 AM Subject: Re: how to mount dewalt 3hp plunge router on legacy 600exl i got the dewalt router mounted. I should post pictures of the 11' x 14' bookshelf soon. Unit installed but I just have to finish the finish on the library ladder and slide on the rail. This darn cold weather makes spraying poly a problem. No heat in the shop (currently). Customer is quite pleased so far. That is what really matters. RE: how to mount dewalt 3hp plunge router on legacy 600exl
Man I did mine totally different I set the cross slide on zero sat the router on with a centre point mounted where the bit goes then put a Morse centre point in the headstock slid the saddle along and lined up the 2 points up so it was dead centre then scribed round the router base and marked 2 spots one on the router plastic base and one on the saddle then removed the plastic base and placed it back on the mill without the router lining up the marks and the scribe and marked my drill holes . I did it this way just in case the hole in the saddle was not centred with the headstock when it was set on zero otherwise I might have had to move the ruler tape in the mill.
