Thank you Bill. I like the second spindle,(the one with the rope and the cove 
flats) The barley twist is also impressive, but I think I like #2 the best. ;-) 
 12" pitch for a 6" spindle looks pretty nice.Isn't it true (general rule of 
thumb) the pitch should be 2-3 times the dia. of the spindle?

Not much to tell really I was just fooling around in the shop no project in 
mind just wanted to see what a large barley spiral would look like for possible 
later projects . the wood is just cheap pine broken veranda post I got cheap
