Re: [LegacyUG] Access Table
I do not have the original GEDCOM since this occurred some time ago. I think I will just wade through the 800+ Files, change the current filing and try to remember this incident when I next utilize a GEDCOM. Live and learn. Dennis - I realize that MRIN's do not have dashes in them, but this is one of those file systems encountered some time ago that utilizes the method I tried to describe. I think the best you can do would be to create a search list of all the people you wanted, create the Event for one of them and then use the Event Clipboard to copy and paste (with amendment where necessary) to everyone else in the search list. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp

Must admit that I used to use PG, but since getting a 10 netbook I've been tending to use that in preference (though the annoying keyboard on my X1 phone probably doesn't help much) 2009/8/12 Connie Sheets clshee...@yahoo.com: Dede, I realize this isn't exactly what you're asking, but as someone who finds all PDA-type devices too small (and too expensive when the higher cell phone access fees are considered), laptops too big, and thinks a cell-phone should be used for phone calls, I have been quite happy with my new netbook. It is inexpensive, lightweight, fits easily in my bag or large purse, has a reputed 9 hour battery life (and comes close in actual practice), and I can touch-type on it! I've taken it to libraries and courthouse basements and transcribed or abstracted documents directly into Legacy, along with negative searches into a Research Log I maintain with Legacy's To Do feature. Upon return home, I just copy my .fdb file via a flash drive back into my desktop copy of Legacy, and I'm all set. The only negative is that it took about 10 days to become comfortable with the smaller keyboard; not much of a negative in my opinion. Just something to think about... Re: [LegacyUG] Pocket Genealogist vs. GedStar Pro
I agree with you about the netbook. I have the Samsung and it is so wonderfully portable and has 9 hours of battery life, so it works great for taking to libraries or anywhere. I use Gedwise to refer to when there is something I don't recall about my data, but for taking down information, a netbook is working out very well. Re: [LegacyUG] Pocket Genealogist vs. GedStar Pro
It will work on the Pre using Classic ( http://www.motionapps.com/classic/overview/ ) but obviously that's not really the ideal way of using it... You could even run it on Windows Mobile using StyleTap, but that's probably a bit over the top :) 2009/8/12 Kim Austin axno...@gmail.com: I sent an email to gedstar to see if the program would would work on my Palm Pre and this is the answer I received: ** Sorry, no.
