[LegacyUG] 6.0.0.127

2007-03-30 Thread Jack Earnshaw
Have I missed something, or wasn't anything said about 6.0.0.127?

Although the Revision History tells about the new "goodies", there is
nothing that says whether any bugs were fixed.

I just noticed it myself but never got any other notice and was about to ask
this group what the difference was with the new version : 6.0.0.127 .
Because of the "horrors ! " of installing the last one which took days and
was very troublesome, I am now reluctant to install this up date. (even
though in the past i have not had problems , ever, installing the up-dates,
except the last one)
I would also like to know what "bugs" may have been fixed or other cool new
items added !

Other than a few new timelines and Vista compatibility, the new Pack

Mary,

The details are always on the Legacy website on the Downloads page. It
rather seems to me that this update is more of a patch to include the Vista
help facility with just a few extras rather than an update as we know them.

RE: [LegacyUG] 6.0.0.127

2007-03-31 Thread Sherry/Support
Marilyn,

There were a *lot* of fixes included in the latest update, as always. Ken
doesn't always get them all listed however.

The Vista fixes were really important for our Vista users.

The last update was quite huge because there were a lot of updates to the
Research Guidance feature. This update doesn't have an updated RG.dat file
so the process isn't nearly as long (as long as 6.0.0.118 wasn't skipped!)
The only problem was that users didn't have the patience to wait through the
update!

Thanks for using Legacy.

this group what the difference was with the new version : 6.0.0.127 .
Because of the "horrors ! " of installing the last one which took days and
was very troublesome, I am now reluctant to install this up date. (even
though in the past i have not had problems , ever, installing the up-dates,
except the last one)
I would also like to know what "bugs" may have been fixed or other cool new

2007-03-31 Thread Debbie Blanton McCoy

June,

That's the way it works. Just be sure that you are downloading the
update - it's the third one down on the update page, I think. It will
look like it's installing the whole thing, but it will only install
the update. You will not have to reenter your code.

The easiest way to update is to open your Legacy program, be sure that
you on on the Legacy Home tab, then look on the right hand side under
Updates and click on the link to update your program. You do not have
to fill in your name and email address that way. Although, it did ask
me for the password when I upgraded last night. I don't remember it
doing that before, but I may have just forgotten.

You're not thick June, I think it's a case of poor page design.
Fortunately, someone tipped me off to go to the Legacy program
itself (if you are running 6.0 updated except for the latest
one), click on the tab "Legacy Home" on the upper left side, then
click on "Updates" on the right side of the page.

They introduced a fix not advertised. In previous versions the process of
exporting to GEDCOM 5.5
produced a proprietary TAB "_MEDI" - instead of the standard "MEDI" (without
the underscore)-
which was not recognized by other programs.

This has been fixed in 6.0.0.127.

Jake
