RE: [LegacyUG] Spam from 'Legacy'
I think I'll go back to bed and wake up again, This is not a dream but a nightmare!! Act in haste - repent in leisure! I sit here red-faced and embarrassed. In my defence I can only state I was trying to be helpful, but it seems I've assailed the character and reputation of two companies. I APOLOGISE!! My mail filtering program has the sender of the email listed as 'known spam' and 'blacklisted' Why, I don't know. I'll have to go through my filter lists and see what happened. To all who panicked because I did, I'm sorry. I'll keep my big mouth/keyboard shut from now on (Crawling back under the rock I came out from!!) FeedBlitz (www.feedblitz.com) does manage our LegacyNews mailing list. We've developed a great relationship with them over the past couple of years and have a great respect for their company. Others, such as Dick Eastman's eogn.com and DearMyrtle also use FeedBlitz. RE: [LegacyUG] Spam from 'Legacy'
No problem and I am sure you had the best intentions. I was re-reading it trying to see if we got the same email, and I almost decided we didn't. This email strikes me a little bit different though. The way I am taking it is they are announcing Legacy News, and if we want to continue to get it, please make sure out email filters will allow it in. Thanks. RE: [LegacyUG] Spam from 'Legacy'
To All, I apologise profusely to FeedBitz for claiming the message was from them. I made a typo and left out the L from FeedBlitz (Why did the company spell it's name so close to the original I wonder??) The text of the message I received is below. As you can see there are numerous attempts in the email to get your address I'm sure Legacy has not handed over to the company below and was hasty in my attempt to warn Legacy users of the spam Again I apologise Phil ** Welcome to: "Legacy News" - * Legacy Family Tree's News/Updates - Our Legacy News mailing list, to which you are subscribed, informs you of our free updates to Legacy Family Tree, and provides the latest genealogy news. RE: [LegacyUG] Spam from 'Legacy'
Phil, I don't know who handles the legacy News etc, I think I did see it somewhere but didn't take too much notice. Are you sure it was Feed *BITZ* who contacted you, as Feed *BLITZ* is a well recognised company. I know nothing of the former, but from "Who is", which gives the name of sites' owners it seems to have a bit of a chequered history.
