For those more technically inclined I found this info on my providers website.
 
What server-side scripting options does iiNet have? 

Perl 5.8 (for CGI scripting). File extension is .cgi or .pl - see CGI Help for 
more information. 
PHP 4.3.10 (For standalone PHP scripts). File extension is .php - see PHP Help 
for more information. 
SSI. File extension is .shtml - see SSI Help for more information.

I am looking at putting my gene info on the web BUT only so authorised people I 
know can access it.
 
I have several people looking for info from my data file and this seems the 
easiest ongoing way of giving other access to the information.
 
How then do I set up the web pages so that someone needs a login and pw to 
access the information?
