Hi Cary,
You can't add more than one picture at a time - but the process is
much speedier in the Picture Centre rather than the Individual Picture Gallery.
You can't get the Title from the filename.
In the past I've had a pop up with some photos - usually photos I've
been sent by others I think - asking whether I want to transfer some
embedded comment to the Caption or Description. Since this has
usually been something irrelevant - like the make of the camera or
something, I've always said no. It may have been the JPG comment? I
can't see anything in the Help about this and it doesn't seem to be
popping up trialling a photo with JPG comment added.
When I have an embedded comment, I use IPTC captions so this isn't
much use to me.
