RE: [LegacyUG] Suggestions, please... Entering Marriage Banns
There is an event called Marriage Banns. Perhaps this is what you are seeking. Entering Marriage Banns Morning, Does anyone have any suggestions to entering Banns of Marriage information? Or at least, can someone please direct me to the best possible location in the software? I understand that I could add an Events/Facts to the Marriage Information, but before I do I was wondering if a format had not already been established in Legacy. I have the following information for an ancestor: 1. Marriage Registration from Parish Register - Date of Marriage - 5 November 1919 2. Notices for Banns of Marriage - Date of Receipt of Notice -10 October 1919; which includes Dates of Publication of Banns: 13 October 1919; 20 October 1919; and 27 October 1919. Frank, Thank you for your response. But I have to be a bit dense. I searched for the event called Marriage Banns in both the Marriage Information Event/Fact and the Individual's Information Event/Fact and could not find it. Re: [LegacyUG] Suggestions, please... Entering Marriage Banns
Jim, when you want to add an event, click Add, then on the screen that pops up, on the line marked Event is an arrow. Click on the arrow and the list of events comes up. Scroll down to Marriage, or even just enter an m in the Find field, and voila! Do you not have a list of events in the Master Lists, Event Definition? Re: [LegacyUG] Suggestions, please... Entering Marriage Banns
Jim, Been there. You may not be looking for the Event Definition Master List in the correct place or you may have run a maintenance program to delete unused events. To get to the Master list of Event Definitions, select MASTER from the top tool bar, then select Event Definition. If marriage Banns is not listed, then select options. You'll see Purge unused (that's the one I suspected you used at one time) and import. Please please read about the import and work with a copy of your file or back up your file for safety as one import option asks about default to the original event wording. Re: [LegacyUG] Suggestions, please... Entering Marriage Banns
Leo, This is great. Before I thought you had to import all, now one can restore any single event with the name of event. I have my SAMPLE file untouched with the default list of events others and added a PLAY File as suggested by LUG for playing around. Thanks for the help on this one.
