Re: [LegacyUG] RTFM usage
Sometimes it's a matter of attitude. Attitudes in general today are so rude that one assumes the worst. Sherry's attempt to explain the acronym included a word which, while not vulgar per se, struck some of us as out of character and therefore somewhat shocking. Re: [LegacyUG] RTFM usage
Oh for goodness sake - you know exactly what was meant by RTFM - don't sugar-coat it (sorry diabetics!) - the person meant the F word and you know it. I also agree the original intent of the letter F was Friendly. This poor person was just trying so hard to get help for something he couldn't figure out on his own - and the response was RTFM - and I don't mean F = Friendly. I hope the persons that were so unkind need help some day - and I hope someone reminds them to RTFM. Re: [LegacyUG] RTFM usage
Personally, I find that Microsoft has trained me not to look at "help" or "manuals" for answers because: 1) responses are irrelevant, 2) I can't tell if they are relevant because the answers are in computer instead of English, 3) it provides 320 options to reveiw for a possible answer, et cetera. However, I find Legacy's various helps (help, manual, hovering, reading the screen, DVDs, and this list) to be very useful 99% of the time.
