True. But why not allow the users to format the sentences associated with these

See the Customize Family View Information screen for details.

I haven't tried it, but you might want to play around with the language
file that you are using. Of course, make a backup first. The language
files have the .trn extension.

The TRN files are just plain text and therefore open to being edited :-)

Entries 331-345 appear to be the most relevant to the original subject.

For example:-

331 == was born [BirthDatePlace] [BirthAddr],[BirthSources] [wasChrTerm]
[ChrDatePlace] [ChrAddr],[ChrSources] died [DeathDatePlace] [DeathAddr]
[DeathSources] [DeathAge], and was [;;buried::cremated] [BurialDatePlace]
[BurialAddr].[BurialSources]

Probably. But so long as an upgrade from the web only replaces older files, and
your amended file is newer than the upgrade, it shouldn't get replaced.

I tried another way. Opened the English (United Kingdom).TRN file with Notepad
and then saved it as Gobbledygook.TRN. I was hoping that the bit of code which
sets the language (Options-- Set language...) would show the new file. Then I
could set the language to Gobbledygook and we're away! But, only a very limited
selection of the languages show up in the list and Gobbledygook wasn't one of
them.

Please Sherry/Brian, why is that? There are plenty of other language files that
aren't shown in the list? Has this got something to do with my local Windows
Settings?

The .trn files are only used by the chart style reports, those where you
have an option to change the language of the report when you create it.
For narrative reports amending the .trn will have no effect.

Setting the language in Legacy in options customize only allows those
languages which are contained in the legacy7alt.lng file which is
installed when you are using one of the international versions of Legacy.

Karen Clifford’s “Organizing for Success” webinar is Wednesday at 2PM Eastern.
Registration is available at www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/webinars.asp. Be “more
early” than usual though, only the first 1,000 can join and this one’s a popular
webinar. See you then.

2011-08-06 Thread Wendy Howard
Hi Paula,

Are these things recorded and replayed later / available online later?

Yes. Geoff usually announces it here on the list and in the Legacy blog
when each individual webinar is available. In any case, go to the
webinars page (http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/webinars.asp) and those
that are currently available will have a green Watch Now button on the
right.

Some of the webinars can also be purchased on disk. Details on the web
page, look for the blue Purchase CD button.

Another way to catch the announcement is to Like Legacy in Facebook.
Lots of ways to get the message. :-)

Kind Regards,
Wendy
