Other ways…

   ‘Name List’ button

Or go to Help/General Information – where there is also an
option to do a report.

I used (several months ago) to be able to go there and then search for the

Now, it starts up and, after 2-3 seconds, goes into the "waiting for a family

for less than 1 second, repeats the countdown etc.

Nothing is able to complete.

Any ideas?

RE: [LegacyUG] How to remove "in Law" families from my Gedcom.

2012-07-25 Thread Robert Austen
Brian,

If you go to 'Set Relationships' and use yourself as the starting person Legacy
will find all those related to you.
Then do a 'detailed search' with the following criteria:
Primary Condition
Look for whom? Where to Look How to Look What to look for
Individual RelationshipEqual toRelated
Secondary Condition
Or Individual RelationshipEqual toSpouses and
Inlaws

The Secondary Condition will include the spouses of you direct line relatives -
your sister-in-law, for example.

Then 'Create List' and go to 'Options/Advanced Tagging' and tag 'Everyone in
Search List'

You can now export the file by the tag.

I'm not sure about the security of cloud services even though the
concept is over 60 years old.

I know Gmail/Google offers such a service but I don't wholly trust
them. I also know there are others and they seem to be mostly
American based.

The webinar on Friday is at a reasonable time for me (6pm), so I might
give it a go, just to see what it is all about.

Slightly academic for me though because I abandoned a desktop PC in
favour of a laptop which means I can cart all my research around with
me fairly easily on my own personal pink fluffy cloud :))

Answering this before I’ve completely reviewed 5 days of messages, so someone
else may already have commented. If you are creating a Descendants narrative
report (starting with Joe BLOW as earliest ancestor) it will say Joe BLOW
married Mary SMITH, daughter of John SMITH and Betty BROWN. Does that help you
get what you want?
