[LegacyUG] Error 3314

2013-10-14 Thread Mary LeClerc
I've checked the online error list and don't find this. Was working
tonight and suddenly I'm getting this error message when I attempt to exit
an individual information screen: Error Saving picture, Error 3314 The
field 'tblBR.IDBPPic' cannot contain a Null value because the Required
property for this field is set to True. Enter a value in this field.
Would you like to TRY IT AGAIN?

Sorry if the solution is on the list and I missed seeing it.
Mary

[LegacyUG] Listing children in Descendant Narrative Report

2013-10-14 Thread Fred H
I am trying to list all 5 children in a Descendant Narrative Report. But
here is the catch I'm having.

Janet H. is the blood line of the family I am reporting on.

Janet's 1st marriage to William H. They had 2 children, (I'll refer to them
as WRH and CRH) Marriage ended in divorce. So far so good in the report.

Now Janet's 2nd. marries Nick L. From a previous marriage, Nick L. had 3
children. (I'll refer to these children as MJL, MLL,and MAL) Nick and Janet
did not have children from this marriage.

Neither Janet nor Nick did any adoptions, all 5 children have their
biological fathers last name.

I realize that Nick L.'s children aren't bloodline as descendants in
Janet's family. However, both Janet and Nick raised all 5 children as one
family, they wish to show all 5 children in the Descendant Narrative
report.

The report shows Janet's 1st husband and 2 children correctly. Then it
shows she marries Nick L. but no children lists. ( I have given Nick L. an
"Unknown" wife for his 1st. marriage showing they had children MJL, MLL and
MAL)

So my question is...Is there a way, or how can I change the records so MJL,
MLL and MAL will also show up on the Descendant Narrative report. (and* *not
show Janet and Nick as *having 3 children.)*
*
*
Thanks to all who might be able to help me with this.

Fred H.

[LegacyUG] changing parents without deletion

2013-10-14 Thread Tony Rolfe
I'd like to follow up on this, please.

I have a family with a daughter, Lavinia, for whom I have census events
as a child with her parents, a marriage and census events with her
husband and family. So far so good.

However, I have discovered another family of the same surname, with a
daughter Lavinia born in the same general area and of the same age. I
have census entries for her with her parents.

It is possible that I have married the wrong Lavinia. I've sent off for
the marriage certificate (fortunately the fathers' names are different)
and I may have to swap the daughters. I know I can do that by unlinking
both and relinking them to the right parents but that will leave the
wrong childhood census entries with each Lavinia.

Is it possible to start a "Manual Merge", use the arrows to move the
census events to the correct Lavinia, but not perform the actual merge?
Or is there a better way?

Advice would be appreciated

Tony
