Re: [LegacyUG] Adding Source Detail in Legacy 8.0.0.439

2014-08-06 Thread Millie van Eerde
I have also been using the source clipboard triangle for Source Details,
and experiencing the same issue--absent description field names. Yesterday
I added a census event and shared it with two other individuals. For all
three, the event and attached source displays correctly in the Assigned
Sources window (clicking on the book), but is not listed in the
Events/Facts list or Chronology. Not sure if it this is part of the
clipboard problem or something else entirely?

Email to Support from within the program was returned as Undeliverable--550
5.7.1 initiative. w10si14260555ict.97 - gsmtp

Am reticent to add further Events. Thanks, Millie

[LegacyUG] Picture Centre

2014-08-06 Thread Jenny M Benson
Although it doesn't seem to be documented in the Help files, looking in
the Picture Centre at a list of images in a Source Images folder, one
sees a - in the U column against each one which is attached to a Source
and a blank if an image is not attached.

Going through each of my Census Image folders today in order to remove
some images that were unattached when the people concerned were deleted
I noticed 1 image in each of 2 folders which had a + next them! It
turned out to be the Census entries in 1901 and 1911 for the same
family, but I cannot see anything out of the ordinary in the way I have
used these images or the Sources to which they are attached

I've never seen this before and over the years I've used the Picture
Census scores of times to look at images in 35 Census Image folders -
hundreds of images!

Can anyone explain?

[LegacyUG] Mar. User ID - I do not want on my FGS

2014-08-06 Thread Susanne Brown
Mar. User ID now appears on my Family Group Sheets on the line below the
Marriage information (date and place) for the main couple. I cannot find an
Option in order to remove it from my FGS reports. When entering Marriage
information I do see a place for a User ID but at this time I do not use it
therefore do not want it to appear of my reports. I hope someone can help

[LegacyUG] MRIN duplicates on FGS

2014-08-06 Thread Susanne Brown
This is a strange finding on my Family Group sheets regarding information
for the main couple.

When the Husband has parents, they are listed as Father and Mother with
their MRIN # appearing in brackets e.g. [MRIN: 1504]. However...

If his Wife does not have parents the Father and Mother headings appears
with no names BUT with the MRIN # of her husband’s parents e.g. [MRIN:
1504].

This also occurs in the reverse e.g. Wife with parents and Husband without.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

From what is says in Help, you might think was so, but in this case
neither image is attached to the Event itself: like all the others they

[LegacyUG] Fwd: Report wording

2014-08-06 Thread Pat Hickin
Sometimes, with remote family members, instead of entering the name of each
child, I enter Seven Children, or Five Other Children, or Five Girls,
Three Boys etc., and give a date range. When the report prints out it
will then say, e.g., They had one child: Seven Children.

Is there any way to get Legacy to omit, in this case, the wording one
child: and just say They had Seven Children.?

Brian,
I did a Check Repair hoping to resolve the issue but the same thing is
happening perhaps even more confusing. Before, it appeared that the MRIN

out it will then say, e.g., They had one child: Seven Children.

Is there any way to get Legacy to omit, in this case, the wording one
child: and just say They had Seven Children.?

 Thanks,
 Pat

Look on the Include tab of the Report Options. There are a selection of

The Mar. User ID is *not* listed in the Report Options menu. It is not
to be confused with the User ID which is shown. Please keep looking.

Re: [LegacyUG] Adding Source Detail in Legacy 8.0.0.439

2014-08-06 Thread Cathy Pinner
Hi Millie,

It's just the field labels that are missing in the display. If you know
what they are and enter the details, they are saved as normal.
Brian has acknowledged and entered the bug.e
He suggests entering sources via the source book icon instead of the
source clipboard if you need to see the field names until this is fixed.

I'm not sure what has happened for you when trying to contact Support.
The email for Support is: supp...@legacyfamilytree.com

I have also been using the source clipboard triangle for Source
Details, and experiencing the same issue--absent description field
names. Yesterday I added a census event and shared it with two other
individuals. For all three, the event and attached source displays
correctly in the Assigned Sources window (clicking on the book), but
is not listed in the Events/Facts list or Chronology. Not sure if it
this is part of the clipboard problem or something else entirely?

Email to Support from within the program was returned as
 Undeliverable--550 5.7.1 initiative. w10si14260555ict.97 - gsmtp

Am reticent to add further Events. Thanks, Millie

Re: [LegacyUG] MRIN duplicates on FGS

2014-08-06 Thread Cathy Pinner
Hi Susanne,

I can confirm this when I have Don't remove any blank lines checked on
the Format tab of the Report options.
So a quick work around until it is fixed is to check one of the other
format options.

This is a strange finding on my Family Group sheets regarding
 information for the main couple.

When the Husband has parents, they are listed as Father and Mother
with their MRIN # appearing in brackets e.g. [MRIN: 1504]. However...

If his Wife does not have parents the Father and Mother headings
appears with no names BUT with the MRIN # of her husband’s parents
 e.g. [MRIN: 1504].

This also occurs in the reverse e.g. Wife with parents and Husband
 without.

 Is anyone else experiencing this?

 Susanne

Re: [LegacyUG] Mar. User ID - I do not want on my FGS

2014-08-06 Thread Susanne Brown
Cathy,

Thank you again!! I didn't have these problems with 7.5 because as you
pointed out on the Format tab I had selected Keep Bir, Chr, Dth, Bur and
Marr. Lesson learned! I so much appreciate your explanations!

Thank you,
Susanne

 Susanne,

There is no option to use the Individual User ID and not the Marriage User
 ID
Note on the input forms they are both just called User ID.
Uncheck the User ID in the report options and you lose both.

Again you can solve your problem by changing the choice on the Format tab
away from Don't remove any blank lines.

 Cathy
