Re: [LegacyUG] Print Report Formats

2017-06-28 Thread Cathy Pinner

Bill,
you seem to be showing old style codes Legacy used to use.
Is the Preview showing the code or just the actual print?

eg I'm wondering whether the problem is in Legacy or between Legacy and
your printer.

Does the problem go away if you re-apply the italics?

I have Legacy 7.5 on my computer (as a tester) and it uses the new style
code with the small double arrows - Guillemets.

You could contact Support. They may be able to update the codes
throughout your file if that's the problem. However, I can't speak for them.

to happen mostly in the output of the list programs. In stead of
simply listing the "item name' the program prints the "item name" plus
what appears to be a programing instruction before and after the "item
name". For example: if the newspaper name New York Times is to be
printed the report output will be \i New York Times \i0 will appear.
At first I thought it might have something to do with the printer
interface but I have gone through several different kinds of printers
and still the same problem. Unfortunately, this makes print reports
options useless for me. Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: [LegacyUG] Source issue

2017-06-28 Thread Brian Kelly
This looks like the classic hidden window problem. The source detail
screen is opening but it is not visible because it may be behind the
Legacy window or may be outside the boundaries of your monitor. Some
things you can try to make that hidden window appear:

1: Tap the Alt key, if the screen is behind the legacy window that may
bring it to the top and make it visible.

2. Hold down Alt and tap the space bar. That will open a Windows
generated menu on the active (source detail) window. If the Source
Detail window is outside your monitor boundaries then menu will show up
at the side of the monitor where the lost window is located. Choose move
from the menu and your mouse pointer will change to a four-point arrow.
Use the arrow keys to move that menu toward the centre of your monitor
and you should see the "missing" screen move into view. When it is
positioned correctly hit enter to exit the move mode.

3. If you have multiple monitors make sure they are all on. The source
detail screen may be on the screen of a monitor which is off.

The last comment I saw by the programmer about this is that he has no
idea when it will be fixed because the programmers at FamilySearch were
still changing the rules at their end.
