Re: [LegacyUG] Problem with Legacy Charting

2019-09-13 Thread Valerie Garton
Thank you Brian but what does " that Charting is not opening off your
visible monitor " mean please ?

I tired alt-space bar and that did not seem to make any difference.

Make sure that Charting is not opening off your visible monitor. Also try
clicking on the Charting Icon and then use ALT-Space bar to open a menu
which will let you maximize the charting window. That should bring the chart
to the front and to your active monitor in a full screen mode.

Alt-space bar will also give you the menu option to move the charting
screen, if that menu appears on an edge of your monitor the charting window
is open off to that side. Select Move and use the arrow keys to move the
charting screen toward the centre of your monitor. Press space to exit the
move when the chart window is positioned where you want.

Re: [LegacyUG] Problem with Legacy Charting

2019-09-13 Thread Cathy Pinner

Why are you opening Charting if you are not making a chart?

The Charting icon on the taskbar should restore and minimise Legacy
Charting just like how other icons work.

Are you opening Legacy Charting from within Legacy or from the separate
icon for it in the Start Menu or possibly on your desktop?

Re: [LegacyUG] kemp family history

2019-09-13 Thread Ian Thomas
Probably NOT the place to ask that question - this list is specifically for how
to use the Legacy Family Tree genealogy software.

However ...

There are no KEMP deaths in 1832 in the Victorian BDM - Victoria was not
declared a separate Colony of England until 1861, so you would need to check
the NSW (New South Wales) BDM. Do you know William KEMP's parent's names?

The earliest KEMP death in Victorian BDM are 1846 and 1847.

Link to the NSW BDM index -

https://familyhistory.bdm.nsw.gov.au/lifelink/familyhistory/search

There are several William KEMP entries there, earliest 1826 (infant). They have
Registration numbers like

   409/1826 V1826409 10

... where the second number, V1826etc indicates that it was in what becasme
the Colony of Victoria.

I did not find any William KEMP deaths between 1825 and 1835, (other than the
infant, died 1826) in the NSW BDM records.

Do you know whereabouts in England he was born? Even knowing the county
would be helpful. You could then try
