Re: [LegacyUG] Location options?

2014-09-22 Thread Bonnie Samuel
I am in process of correcting Locations, one by one...really don't see another
way to do it particularly given what you've just said, Brian! Oh well, good way
to reviewI'm down to the "M's".

One thing that can cause that option to fail is not using the four
levels with comma separations for missing levels form for locations. All
your locations have to be in the form city, county, state, country and
if one of the levels is missing you must still include the comma for
that level. city, , state, country for example. Address, city, county,
state, country will also cause a failure because there are five levels.

[LegacyUG] Location options?

2014-09-22 Thread Bonnie Samuel
I am using Legacy 8 on a Mac with Parallels. I say that as maybe it is why
certains "options" don't seem to work...or is it? On the Location list there is
a "options" drop down list of choices. One is enable expanding all state
abbreviations to full spellingand the other is to add USA to all American
states. Neither works for me or perhaps I am not doing it properly. I can not
find a help screen that gives further instructions. Help please and thanks!

[LegacyUG] Notes

2012-08-10 Thread Bonnie Samuel
Notes, notes everywhere! But how to make a sensible journal out of the jumble
the numerous note areas create in reports. Is it possible to put notes under
"general" with footnotes? That is, sequential notes each with a source attached
- would that print out as a narrative? The only way I see now is to transfer a
report to a word processing program and rewrite! I love Legacy, but this is a
weak area in my view.

RootsMagic. I ran an individual report and now have quite a mess! 1st, under
"General" all notes begin with "CONC" and are very incomplete from the
original….Help! And thanks

Thanks very much, Dave. That clears up the usage process between Bootcamp
and Parallels. Appreciate you input. Bonnie
