[LegacyUG] Map Family
Any idea when this feature will again be available? When I updated my copy of Legacy 9 to the latest build, 9.0.0.258, the map disappeared and I have a message stating that the feature is under construction and not available at this time. [LegacyUG] Missing media files
I recently changed computers. When I reinstalled Legacy, the linkages to my Multimedia files were missing. I have been able to re-establish linkages for all but 2 files. The first one was a .bmp file that I could not find anywhere in my C; drive. I decided to download the document again, which I did. It came in as a.jpg file. I saved it and linked it to the person's file and deleted the .bmp file. I am still getting the message that I have a missing Multimedia file. In the other instance, it is a .jpg file that I can not find on my C: drive either. When I go to that person's file, the picture icon is not highlighted and there are no documents liked to that person, but it is still listed on the missing Multimedia files report. Can anyone give me guidance on how to fix these files? [LegacyUG] Citing a census
How do I cite a specific census, such as the 1920 U.S. Census when there are several different census sheets from a variety of locations or the same location. In the Watch Geoff Live: Adding a Census Record, Geoff indicates that the specific source info such as city, page, actual text and picture should be included in the Source detail. If I do that for the census report applying to one family and have a different census form applying to a different family on a different sheet, shouldn't the information in the Source detail change? If it does, what happens, when you select the source a second time and change the detail? Does Legacy retain the 1920 U.S. Census as a basic source but have several different details? Thank you for your help. Re: [LegacyUG] census event
I never thought of double checking for date discrepancies, but will now. I think this would be an excellent opportunity to enter the second date using the alternate heading, as it would show immediately that there is more than one enumeration for that family for that census. On 10 March 2012 14:57, John S. Adams oldbr...@hotmail.com wrote: I use the date of enumeration for the reasons stated by others (records date of residence, individuals or families listed twice). I have even found one family listed in the 1880 census on June 2nd and the page was marked with a stamp, First enumeration rejected. Later I found the same family on another page dated November 9th with a different surname spelling, at a different address, and with different family members. I think the actual date of the enumeration is essential. The official date is easily available and could be entered in the Master Source Comments block. John S.
