If you are importing data to Legacy using the Legacy FamilySearch Share
Data tab and clicking the little arrow on the relevant line you will be
given the option for an automatic Source to be added to your Legacy
file. If you are taking data from FamilySearch, then FamilySeach IS
your Source.

If you mean that want to copy a Source which has been added to an
individual in FS, then open the Sources tab in Legacy FamilySearch and
click the relevant arrow there.

Re: [LegacyUG] NUISANCE Message from Legacy

2018-10-14 Thread ronaldbernier
Actually, everyone subscribed to the list is getting it. Unfortunately, I
don’t think the list is monitored by Legacy staff like it used to be. These
messages are numbering in excess of a hundred now. As someone else said, my
delete button works very well, but I am getting sick and tired of having to use
it so much.

Alan and Sherry are both wrong. Suzie was not the person who asked to
unsubscribe nor is she the person who was rude. Someone named lfague was the
one who asked to unsubscribe and someone signed AJM was the one who was rude.
Both can be confirmed by reading the email thread. Read your posts carefully
everyone - and that includes the message on how to unsubscribe that comes at
the bottom of every email.

One thing that causes problems - when you go to the link to unsubscribe, you
also need to change the radio button from "Subscribe" to "Unsubscribe".

This list is actually quite inactive compared to the Facebook page!

Quite honestly, a rude response like that des not even warrant a warning. If I

That is exactly when you use a filter/rule to send messages that you deem

Getting email responses on a poll or a multitude of "me too" responses are
annoying!

Getting *information* and discussion about the subject of the mailing list is
what we all hope for!

Re: [LegacyUG] Update

2018-02-21 Thread ronaldbernier
Of course Michelle, if people choose to stay on the LUG list, they really
shouldn't be complaining that they are getting too many emails. If they
were really bothered by the number of responses to the original post which
was clearly identified as a poll, they could have very easily created a
temporary rule/filter to send any messages related to AFN directly to their
trash folder. That would have been much easier than wasting time writing
complaints to a mail list which they chose to subscribe to.

I will try and do a better job of copying and pasting the stuff I put on

Next time I do a poll I will do it through Google Docs (Luc, one of our

Re: [LegacyUG] The USER Group purpose?

2016-04-12 Thread ronaldbernier
Linda,

Thank you for a very well stated response. Unfortunately, the small group of
whiners are the same people who always whine and complain. First, are the
people who think that because they purchased a license for the software, that
ENTITLES them to a position on the board of directors. Then, there are those
who claim to have a background in software development/programming/marketing –
they are legends in their own minds and think they are ENTITLED to tell
Legacy/Millennia how to operate their company. Finally, there are those who
feel the need to threaten the sales of Legacy if their demands are not met.
These are all people who probably grew up never being thankful for what they
had, but always demanding their ENTITLEMENT to more at no additional cost.
