Elizabeth,
People are using Events for autosomal DNA - and Hashtags.

Many thanks for the new Legacy Deluxe V9.

I really appreciate that when I installed it and opened it up, it
looked exactly the same as V8. I had followed the procedures earlier
in the week – so good to have them work wellJ

I had bought Geoff’s book “Unlocked” some time ago after I had seen
the webinar about breaking down brick walls. Not only did the book
show me some new ‘shortcuts’ that I had not been aware of, although I
have been a Legacy user for many years, but it demonstrated clearly
how to use many of the features in V9 that are now available.

A feature I had hoped would be included, but has not been, is the
ability to add to the list of ‘Available DNA Tests’ because I would
like to include the autosomal tests – not for the results, but so that
I can indicate whether they have had the testing done. As I am looking
at various brick walls, being able to check who has been tested in
that family line would provide a clue for further research. At the
moment, I have to open up a different program to check which relations
have been tested, and what their kit numbers are. Being able to
include basic GEDMatch and DNAGEDCOM information would be helpful too,
for the same reason.

This is because all of the information about a person that affects
their genealogy can be recorded. eg I could hashtag everyone who has
been tested and do a printout showing where they were tested and when.
Then, for example, I could compare this with the new DNA charts that
are now available.

I will send this request through to developers, but thought it was
worth a mention here.

Kind regards,

Elizabeth

You can see the new features on the Legacy website at

Legacy v9 installed over Legacy v8. I think there's a way to go back
if you don't like v9, but I don't see it in the Knowledge Base - maybe
someone else can find it.

Yes. Legacy 9 is tested for Win 7 and above.
People with earlier operating systems couldn't use various new features.
Can't recall exactly which - Hinting was one.

No change with memory as far as I know.

Is there any difference in hardware (eg memory) requirements?

If you managed to take a copy of you customer number/unlock number for V8 you
can always

download V8 from Legacy again and then unlock the deluxe again with that number.

Looks like a good deal of new stuff without compromising the old .
