There's a problem with the server at the moment (or was).
When you get an error like this, that should be your first thought.

Note the cloud backup is just an extra backup. It shouldn't be
your only backup and it shouldn't be your only backup off your
computer.

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Error message cannot backup to Legacy cloud 5.0

There's a problem with the server at the moment (or was).
When you get an error like this, that should be your first thought.

Note the cloud backup is just an extra backup. It shouldn't be your only backup
and it shouldn't be your only backup off your computer.

I wouldn't mind getting off the Legacy cloud and just backing up to
dropbox. I wouldn't know how to delete the info on the Legacy cloud
though. Is that possible or feasible, do you think?

It’s all off-computer, on some server somewhere….. Personally I believe the
data is safe but some of my living family members can’t sleep at night by the
thought that I have all their personal information on my computer, let alone if
I would have a copy of it somewhere in whatever cloud…. I have a backup on my
computer and periodically back everything up on a removable harddisk, which is
stored sits in my documents safe. Nothing in Dropbox or even the Legacy Cloud.

Re: [LegacyUG] Error message cannot backup to Legacy cloud 5.0

2018-02-24 Thread Sue Jamieson
Thank you, Cathy. I just started with Legacy a couple of weeks ago, so
have a lot to learn. I'll start backing up to my Dropbox, as well. I
should have thought of that. I back everything else I do to Dropbox.

Again, thank you. I'm feeling relieved.

Re: [LegacyUG] Error message 200002

2017-10-16 Thread Cathy Pinner

Some ideas.
* It's likely to be a large image so check the file sizes in the
relevant media folders for people who were in this report.
* To see if it's a source image, omit sources or at least source
pictures from the report and see if you get it.

* To see if it's an event image, omit events or at least event pics
* Change the number of generations in the report - is the error still
there? If not, it's in the generation that you just left out.

Try a Check/Repair.

If you can't get to Check/Repair, instead of opening Legacy in your
usual way, go to Documents\Legacy Family Tree\Data\ and double click
Sample.fdb.

This will open Legacy using the Sample file.
Then use File - Close to close it.
Then you can use File - Check/Repair and get the dialogue where you can
find the problem file.

Re: [LegacyUG] error message

2015-10-31 Thread Cathy Pinner
Lorraine,
Have you tried doing a Check/Repair on your family file?

First backup your family file.
Then
File - File Maintenance - Check/Repair

If this doesn't fix the problem, I suggest you email Support
It's not an error that seems to be in the Knowledge Base

When I tried to use the Relationship Calculator, an error message popped up
saying; marriage ID '777' not found. I clicked on "okay" but could not get
rid of the message after constant clicking on "okay." I finally had to
close Legacy using Taskmaster. When I opened Legacy again and tried to use the

I don't think that integrates with the new FamilySearch FamilyTree product, but
with the New FamilySearch which is the forerunner of what the announcement was
all about. Check your build number. If it's greater than 219 you've somehow got
your hands on the to-be-released version. Also, what does it say on the titlebar
of the FamilySearch window? Mine says 7.5.109

Eliz, Mike,

Eliz, it is always helpful if the version number of Legacy is given when
requesting help – it is found using the Info icon. However the General Release
V7.5 has had access to Family Search for some time, although I am not sure that
all users were able to access it.

Not knowing exactly what the dates in question are, nor exactly where and when
the problem arises, makes it difficult to comment on your problem.

In my case I default to the 1800's The error message clearly gives the
right date in these cases so I know I hadn't made an error in typing.

Eliz,

Difficult to hazard a guess!! One thing which I have found with my own stuff,
and it can be difficult to spot is an error in my DB dates, in particular a
wrong century in particular - writing eg. 1950 for 1850 in a date.

I had loaded my Legacy db to familysearch family tree and am going thru the

grandfather all got these error messages, my father was born 2 years after his
parents marriage not over 20, his parents marriage was from my Gram so figure
that is right I can't copy the error message but they have the birthdays
right, and the marriage dates but insist the child was born after 20 years of
marriage.

I just can't figure if it is Legacy or familytree. I can ignore it if I must

[LegacyUG] Error message when adding spouse or parents

2012-02-04 Thread Bonita Voigt
After downloading the latest version today (7.5.0.142) I started receiving a
error message when trying to add a spouse or parents in the family view. Does
it with both the keyboard shortcuts and clicking in the space where the info is
placed. The error message shows up after clicking “add new person.”The
error message never appeared before the update. The message is: “Error
getting next deleted MRIN. Error 3021: No current record. Would you like to
try it again?” I’m given several choices, one of which is “no”. If I click on
the “no” twice it will allow me to enter the information.

Is anyone else having this problem? I shut down the program and rebooted my
computer and ran Scandisc... neither one helped, so I sent a bug report to
Millennia.

It may be that you have installed Legacy to the Programs folder(s) and

Carol,

My usual reaction to this would be to suggest a re-install, however whilst I
would still do so, I cannot but feel that in view of all your problems the
solution lies elsewhere.

Have you had problems with any other program? I cannot but feel that your
problem may be a corrupted HD or ROM. Have you tried running Check Disk, or a
ROM Test (You can Google for this program)?

Simple solution. View source, read description,

(Runtime error 380 is most commonly caused an interrupted or
incomplete download of the Legacy update file. This error does not cause
any data to be lost and can be fixed by re-downloading the update file
and making sure it finishes. Please Note: The download progress
indicator may appear to 'stall'.
This is normal. Legacy is downloading. Please do not cancel the
download as this causes the runtime error 380 which can only be fixed by
completing this download.)

Notify Millenia of the web problem.
