Re: [LegacyUG] Immense Frustration

2015-01-15 Thread Elizabeth Hatchell
Error 48 and Error 91 more or less FIXED

Several of you know that I have been struggling with these two errors for
some weeks now. I have tried everything imaginable - and some pretty
unimaginable, taking hours at a time - but today although the errors were
both mentioned, by saying 'No', the program didn't crash. I have been able
to search and get a list without problems and file/repair without crashing.

I took the advice given with the result that my drivers have been updated,
my Windows Update has been run and failed updates re-run. I use CCleaner
and took the plunge to clean the registry (but kept a backup in case) and
finally disabled a Security program supplied by my bank (Trusteer Endpoint
Protection) but I really don't know if these affected anything.

Anyway, I am reasonably happy now. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Well we are still working through possible solutions but so far nothing
solves it. I don't get the 3035 error, always 91 or 48. Will keep you

Re: [LegacyUG] Immense Frustration

2015-01-09 Thread Kirstin
I have also been unable to run check/repair for a few months due to
getting the 3035 exceeded system resources error. I have Version
8.0.0.459 on a Windows 7 machine with 8 GB RAM. I did all of the same
things, including a clean install as instructed by support. I was able
to do check repair on the sample file but not on any of my old (much
larger) files. Even older backups and files that had previously been
working fine now won't check/repair even though they did in the past (I
keep old versions of the file every time I make major changes- not just
backups). Even files from Version 7.5 that I re-converted to 8 wouldn't
check/repair without the 3035 error. I have not yet sent my file to
support which was the final suggestion. The really weird thing is that
when I opened a new blank database and imported my file into the blank
database I was able to run check/repair a couple times before I started
getting the error message again. But first I would get a series of those
error messages about not being able to read certain files and having to
chose Yes, No, or Quit several times before eventually getting the 3035
error (I'll try it again to get the specific error message numbers if it
helps).

I repeated the process again and the same thing happened (able to run
check/repair a couple times, then not). The only error I had gotten was
a duplicate error so it's not that my file had numerous errors. I've
come to the conclusion that the current version (459) is the problem but
I'm not sure how it's going to get repaired if they can't replicate the
problem on the other end. I guess my question is how do I get an older
version to use until the situation is resolved? I don't want to keep
adding information to a potentially damaged database.

[LegacyUG] Immense Frustration

2015-01-08 Thread Elizabeth Hatchell
I have had problems for weeks and weeks now, the first time in November
2014. I have run every conceivable update for Microsoft, cleaned the
registry, de-fragged, changed anti-virus programs done several complete
uninstalls and re-installs of Legacy 8, updated Legacy, made new copies of
my family file under different names and I am STILL completely stuck with
being unable to run a Name List search or carry out File/Maintenance.

At one point, my family file was sent to Support and they found nothing
wrong. Has anyone been able to solve this problem?

Any ideas PLEASE?
Elizabeth
