[LegacyUG] Tree finder - maximum ?
Having just learned about View Tree Finder, I am of course taking a look at my results. Many are a surprise, but I was expecting a few of them. Specifically, there are two possible candidates for my husband's jump across the pond that I expected to be there. (I've gone against convention and added them and their ancestors into my main file.) However, one of these two is missing from the list. Is it possible the Tree Finder stops at 12 Trees found? Can you suggest how I might easily test this further? Re: [LegacyUG] Tree finder - maximum ?
I have 25 trees in my file at the moment. Don't forget that the Tree Finder lists the individual in each tree with the SMALLEST RIN. That might not be the person you're expecting to see, so take a closer look. Who is your candidate linked to - is one of them the person with the smallest RIN and listed at Tree Finder? And always click on Refresh when you open Tree Finder before looking at what is listed there. Hope this helps. :-) Wendy Paula Ryburn said the following on 4/03/2012 8:05 a.m.: Having just learned about View Tree Finder, I am of course taking a look at my results. Re: [LegacyUG] Tree finder - maximum ?
Wendy, Yes, that was it. I added a small unlinked family and it did pop into the list. The problem was that I added my missing person's father first, so that's who was showing up in the list. Re: [LegacyUG] Tree Finder
For a moment, ignore Tree Finder. Each individual or group in Tree Finder shows the individual with the lowest RIN for that group. The count shows the number of individuals in each tree. Go to the Name List. Clickon the # field to sort by RINs. Look at the number at the top border in the title bar for the window (Name list contains Individuals and the final RIN in the list. If they're different, you have abandoned RINs and need to renumber RINs in Legacy. Go to Tools Renumber RINs if you have the Deluxe Edition. If you have Standard Edition, to renumber the RINs, go to File Export to... Legacy File and in the Legacy Export window, select Fill all existing abandoned RINs/MRINs on the right side under Record Numbering Sincerely, Sherry Technical Support Legacy Family Tree On Mon, Oct 24, 2011 at 9:39 PM, ceaste...@aol.com wrote: Hi listers, Is this a bug?
