Fwd: Re: [LegacyUG] Step-children.... in Family Group Sheets

2010-09-08 Thread Michael Feldman
Hi all,

I'm a new Legacy user and just joined the list.

I found the stepchildren thread in the archive, and was able
successfully to set a stepson's status as step. So far so good.

Those parents and stepson are part of a descendants report. In the
report options - descendant chart - include tab, child status is
grayed out, along with lots of other options. I thought perhaps those
were enabled in Legacy Deluxe, so I paid the upgrade fee and installed
it. But they're still grayed out.

I'd also like to indicate divorce situations on that descendant chart,
but marriage status is also grayed out.

Have I missed something somewhere that would turn those options on?

Thanks very much!

Mike Feldman, Portland OR

Wanda: It's been this way for years, so I wouldn't expect a change in the
next version. (BTW, the request is not to include step-children, but to
include the parent-child status so that we can see that they are
step-children.)

Mike: I think the same Include form is used for all the report types, with
varying items grayed out, depending on the specific report type.

The Descendant Chart only shows direct descendants and spouses. I use the
Deluxe edition and those options are grayed out for me, also. The option to
include stepchildren in a chart would be nice. Maybe it will be included in
the next version.

But that doesn't explain why all those options are grayed out in the
Include tab -- those are general options for descendant charts and it's
not clear to me why Legacy shows the options but then grays them out.
