RE: [LegacyUG] Family Group Sheet - Wife at top
Olwyn, Dogging me, I went to the extreme to get what I think you want from an FGS all from within Legacy. Mind you, it is fiddly and if you wanted all information to be like this, then you'd have to treat your whole db like this. I was able to get the FGS to look like this: http://www.easygensolutions.com/software/fgs-new.png I was able to do this within Legacy without the need to export to Adobe (which I don't have anyway). You can test this on a test file if you want to see whether it is a viable solution for you. To get Legacy to look like this: http://www.easygensolutions.com/software/legacy.png Menu: Edit Swap Husband and Wife. You will need to agree to swap the gender Menu: Options Customise View | Default Family View Labels and Reporting [Edit Default Marriage Wording] Swap the labels as shown: http://www.easygensolutions.com/software/marriage-wording.png Menu: Reports Reports Menu (Charts) Family Use this option then [Preview] http://www.easygensolutions.com/software/fgs-reports.png All within Legacy. Does this help? RE: [LegacyUG] Family Group Sheet - Wife at top
I am glad you liked it. The only thing I wasn’t able to fix was the gender allocation. If you open the individual dialog in legacy you will see that the genders are incorrect, but visually everything else seems to be ok. RE: [LegacyUG] Family Group Sheet - Wife at top
Mark, I should have said thank you so much for going to this much effort for me. For printing purposes this exactly what I want to see. There will be a few I need to print in this method but if the direct descendant is male I will revert to the standard format. It will be worth it for me. This is how I want to see it when I flick through the printed pages - the direct descendant in the top placement. Again many thanks Olwyn From: dobou...@hotmail.com To: LegacyUserGroup@LegacyUsers.com Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] Family Group Sheet - Wife at top Date: Sat, 23 Apr 2011 15:17:43 +1200 Brilliant, genius, perfect. You cannot change the order of the spouses. The FGS is a standard Genealogical report format that lists the husband first. Re: [LegacyUG] Family Group Sheet - Wife at top
Hi Olwyn, I am using Legacy 7.5. Can anyone tell me what I check or uncheck to make it show the wife in the first position and in the title Direct Descendants of on the Family Group Sheet? I am following the female line and find it frustrating to have the husband always show in the title and at the top. Do you mean the Family Group Records report, which is found at the Family tab at the Reports Menu? You can edit the title of that report, and there are a variety of variables you can insert to make it flexible - take a look in the Help file under Fields, Embedded in report titles. Hope this helps. :-) Kind Regards, Wendy Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
