RE: [LegacyUG] Incorrect link
Ron, Since I don't know if the kids share the same father or not they each have a separate unknown father so there are three marriages (two unknown)for my aunt and when I click through the different marriages for her only one of these two kids (unknown fathers) show at a time in the unknown marraiges (all three of the kids born to my aunt and uncle show in all marriages) but both show in the marriage to my uncle as half kids. That's why I was confused. I follow the the part about what you did, but am unsure about the part about what kids are showing up where and how! So, this is what you should have. On the Spouse Screen (click the Spouse Icon), your aunt should have the two marriages with the first marriage at the top. The two children in question should be linked to this first marriage. The next bit depends on how you wish to show these two kids. You can leave them just linked to the first marriage and they will show as half-kids on the Family View screen for the second marriage. Or additionally you can link them to the second marriage as either step, or adopted. In which case they will show twice on Family View and also in Reports. Hope that helps. Thanks Heather, That is exactly what I was trying to say. I don't know if they share a father or not so I think I will leave it the way it is, now that I know I didn't mess anything up. When you say existing problem, you mean Legacy already knows and this is on the "fix it" list? However, if you are pretty certain that the kids were likely from the same unknown person, you want to change it to only one "marriage" (or relationship) with an unknown. So, unlike all but one of the kids from the parents, go to the "marriage" of the person and the unknown, and add the kids back in (add existing child). Then, look at the list of the person's spouses, and get rid of the extra marriages that are not needed.
